I post a lot about supporting artists by sharing their social media posts, etc. But here is another exceptional way to support the arts and artists. Buy their art.
There are many times during every calendar year when one needs to give a gift to someone else. Gifting is simply a part of American culture. What seems no longer a part of American culture is gifting, for a "regular" occasion, something hand crafted. We tend to save those gifts for great big occasions. Let's face it, big box stores are easy and convenient so that's the direction we all tend to gravitate for our gifting needs.
Try this for your next gifting need. Seek out an artist or craft person and inquire if they offer anything in the price range you've given yourself for the gift purchase. Chances are by doing this you'll find something better than you imagined, at a price point you'll like and you'll be making two people happy. The artist you supported and the person who received your one of a kind gift.
