April Quilt Exhibit at Greer Heritage Museum

The Peach Patchers Quilting Guild will hold a quilt exhibit at the Greer Heritage Museum on April 27 and 28. Over 20 quilts will be displayed. Quilters will demonstrate technique and answer questions about the art of quilting.

The exhibit will be held during regular museum hours 10 am to 4 pm at the museum at 106 S Main St. For information call the museum at 864-877-3377.

March Museum Exhibit

The Greer Heritage Museum welcomes the public to an exhibit on Scouting in Greer March 2-23. Blake Miller, a Greer High School student, has researched and created the special exhibit as his Eagle Scout project. Blake will be in the museum on Sat., Mar. 3 to explain his project and the history he has learned.

The public is welcome to attend the event. Former Boy Scouts are encouraged to come and share their stories. There is no charge for admission to the museum located at 106 S. Main St. For information on tours and programs at the museum, call 877-3377.


January Exhibit at the Greer Heritage Museum

A new exhibit at the Greer Heritage Museum celebrates business in Greer, past and present. The exhibit features promotional merchandise that early Greer merchants gave to their customers. Calendars, fans, pencils, banks, and other items are on display, some dating to the 1920s. Items from present merchants are included in the exhibit to highlight differences and similarities in promotional merchandizing.

The exhibit is open to the public January 13 through Feb. 4 during the museum’s Fri. and Sat. hours 10 am to 4 pm. There is no charge to visit the museum at 106 S Main St. For information on programs or group tours, call the museum at 877-3377.


The Greer Heritage Museum announces summer hours: Fridays 10 am to 4 pm and Saturdays 10 am to 2 pm. Summer hours begin June 4 and end Aug 27. Group tours for ages 7 through adult can be scheduled by calling 864-877-3377.


The Greer Heritage Museum will host a Quilt Exhibit on April 30 from 10 am to 3 pm at its location at 106 S Main St. The featured quilters will be the Peach Patchers Quilters’ Guild of Greer and the St Matthew United Methodist Church Quilts & Crafts of Taylors. There will be both vintage and new quilts on display. Guild members will demonstrate hand-quilting and answer questions for those interested in the art.


The Greer Heritage Museum invites the public to a spinning demonstration on Sat,

April 9 from 10 am to12 pm and 1 to 2:30 pm. Carolyn Grothaus will spin angora wool on a traditional spinning wheel. Hands-on activities available for children and adults will be drop spindle spinning, examining fibers, carding with a drum carder, and visiting with a live angora rabbit.
