Warwick Furnace Farm A family-owned Certified Naturally Grown lavender farm in rural Chester County, PA. Everything we produce is all-natural and made on the farm.

We grow, harvest and distill lavender on our historic farm to produce a line of artisanal, all-natural home and beauty products, handcrafted on site in small batches. Our Lavender is harvested, distilled and formulated on site into small batch essential oils, lavender floral mists in a variety of scents, soothing lavender salves, balancing floral toner, calming botanical bath soak, and dried floral creations like eye pillows, lavender wands, bundles, and sachets. Our plants are Certified Naturally Grown without herbicides, pesticides or synthetic chemicals; using only natural and organic soil amendments.

This week’s special loaf from Levantine Rose Bakery is a savory sun-dried tomato and rosemary bread, delicious fresh with a little olive oil or transformed with goat cheese. Thoroughly enjoying our new role as official bread photographer and taste-tester! Preorder to pick up fresh at the farm on Saturday Oct 24.

There is so much to enjoy as autumn settles over the farm. The fields are looking particularly beautiful, and we encourage Farm Store visitors to bring a picnic to enjoy at our tables during open hours. Artists are especially welcome to bring their easels and capture the changing leaves before the season slips away. Make an afternoon of it with a walk through the neighboring Thomas P. Bentley Preserve and a visit to Victoria Naftal’s wonderfully imaginative beetle-themed exhibition in the gallery.

Our calendar is full with workshops, gatherings, and holiday markets. Here’s a little peek at what’s ahead!

A few glimpses of this weekend’s Semiquincentennial themed Ball, with dance instruction by Fiona Gillespie and live music by Laura Alexander on cello and Liv Castor on harp. The attire was divine, and a most welcome ball supper was prepared by Dolly Rosen, with bread from Levantine Rose Bakery.

There is much to be learned in the art of hosting a ball, but between the music, the dancing, the fine company, and the splendid dress, a spirited evening was had by all. We are grateful to everyone who joined us in bringing a little eighteenth-century revelry to Warwick Furnace Farm. Will you join us for the next one?

Dance List
AWAY TO THE CAMP 1782
SELLINGER’S ROUND 15005
THE GEUD MAN OF BALLANGIGH 1696

On an adventure with Margaux Kent | Story Gatherer sharing a glimpse into the compelling world of Maison Bergogne by Juliette Hermant in Narrowsburg, NY. While following along for many years online, as with most things, nothing compares to experiencing it first hand and connecting with the incredible minds that imagine and share these beautiful worlds we admire from afar. My quick pictures don’t quite do it justice…

Thank you, Juliette, for the much-needed inspiration and generous conversation.

Eager to share the magical universe where we are staying next Mildred's Lane … any other local suggestions welcome!

Last night’s opening of Victoria Naftal’s Artist in Residence exhibition, complete with beetle-themed desserts by Dolly Rosen 🪲

Come see the exhibition today and meet Victoria from 11–3 during farm store hours. Victoria’s curious work is a delight for visitors of all ages, especially good for young naturalists.

We also have sourdough pickup, with a few extra loaves, and fresh lavender bundles. It promises to be a beautiful day to sit in the sunshine and enjoy the view.

Artist Statement: Smallness has no bearing on the measure of significance. Coleoptera, the order encompassing beetles, contains hundreds of thousands of species and represents roughly one quarter of all known animal species on Earth. Despite their extraordinary abundance and ecological importance, beetles often remain anonymous to us.

Each beetle represented in this work is a resident of Pennsylvania. Sculpted in miniature from clay, with wire legs wrapped in thread, these specimen recreations begin as careful observations of their living counterparts before being transformed into personified characters. As articulated, posable puppets, they are given the opportunity to step beyond the classifications we impose upon them… to introduce themselves, assume identities, and reveal imagined inner lives.

Beneath the whimsy lies the very real work these small creatures perform. Beetles are decomposers, pollinators, recyclers of nutrients, and participants in the intricate systems that sustain forests, fields, and soils. Their contributions are largely invisible, but the health of the world around us depends upon countless such lives and relationships.
