Not sure how prototypical this “shorty” tank car is in this paint scheme, but I can’t deny I’ve always been attracted to the hooker…. 😂😈

This one joins a growing line of tank cars that’s “done” until I get around to weathering the bunch

Classic Conrail in a foreign land

03/04/2021

While classic SP power holds the siding at Lancaster, a glimpse of the future approaches from the depths of the distant tunnel, complete with a repainted Tunnel Twinkie and accompanied by more classic, albeit patched, former SP power

Was standing trackside at Caliente and found some VERY foreign power on the RR.

Guess pooling power isn’t a farely recent concept after all...

I am posting this with a heavy heart.
I love my trains and everything that comes with them... but I am done in 2021. This is taking up too much of my time. I am struggling to keep up with the everyday chores of cooking, cleaning and maintaining my home, so something has to give. I have decided to get rid of my stuff.
Below is a list of what's available for extremely cheap. Serious inquiries only, and please don't insult me with low offers.
Thanks for reading and understanding...
1. Vacuum cleaner
2. Dustpan and brush
3. Mop and bucket
4. Lawn Mower
5. Leaf blower
6. Laundry detergent
7. Iron
8. Broom
Anything helps for train stuff.

What's up on the Verdugo Valley Lines... Another 30 minutes of operations for your viewing pleasure.

09/08/2020

An hour of pure train enjoyment for all those those that wish they could visit but can't. Do you think we are pulling your leg? The first part is time lapse of an old Open House in about 6 minutes.

Thanks to the holiday, able to enjoy some railfanning at Caliente.

I admit surprise at catching 3 tunnel motors pulling a mixed freight.

While the unit on point looked fresh from the paint shop, her 2 sisters looked a little worse for wear...

Tried “pacing” a train thru Saugus. I’d like to think it was successful.

Hello, is anyone interested in some old magazines? I have several complete year and a lot of single issues. Great stuff. Please send me a message with any offer. From Ontario area.
Here’s a nice one featuring Santa Fe freights. Nice footage!
Interesting video on changing wheel sets on a freight car. I thought it was interesting that they changed the shims on the bolster pins...I didn’t know that happened in real life.
I would be grateful if I could be put on the email list for shows and swap meets. I am a disabled veteran with limited mobility beginning a small layout set about 1905. Since Horizon bought and discontinued MDC Roundhouse kits, the hobby lost its main source of rolling stock for this era. I hope to find some at swap meets. [email protected] Thanks
Great video on weathering freight cars.
Wednesday, June 12 at 11 AM Lomita Train Museum USPS stamp ceremony celebrating the 150th Anniversary of the Transcontinental Railroad. Free to all. Special field pictorial postmark available with purchase of new train stamps that were released on May 10th.
Here is a great resource for modeling steam era freight cars.
Here is a thread on weathering steam era freight cars. It focuses on the excellent work of Jim Six, who uses standard ready to roll and accurail and even Athearn blue box kits with excellent results. Jim explains some of his techniques in the thread. He tends to add details to these kits, including replacing the molded-in handrails and other details.
I like the conversation style of the two guys in these videos. Dan gives detailed explanations of the work he did on the models.
Part of a nice series showcasing the work of a talented model builder.
