Combining an historic structure with award winning modern architecture, the Gentry Public Library is a new civic presence for Gentry, Arkansas and the surrounding communities... The Gentry Public Library is administered by the City of Gentry and its Library Board of Directors, and is staffed primarily by volunteers. Annual funds come from the Gentry United Way for the purchase of new materials. Book sales, memorial donations, and occasional private and corporate donations provide additional funding. The City of Gentry contributes the librarian's salary and provides all financial support for operations and maintenance of the library.

Art Opening @ the Library

Gentry Public Library invites the public to attend the reception for the opening of Jennifer Hawkins’ Art @ the Library Exhibit. Jennifer, a Gentry resident, is a self-taught artist who paints out of a passion to be creative. She has produced art since she was a child, and now she has developed her own art process. Each piece is individually created, some even glow in the dark. Jennifer’s art show will open on Saturday, November 16, at 11:00 and will be on display until the end of the year.

Please join me in welcoming our two newest School Resource Officers, Adam Newby and Don King! Both of these gentle giants are excited, and honored, to have the opportunity to keep our children safe! We here at the PD are really looking forward to working with these two gentlemen and getting to know them better. If you see them at the schools, please take a second to say high, shake their hand, and get to know them. You won't be disappointed!

Sincerely,
Chief Clay Stewart

We have lost a great American voice in the passing of Cokie Roberts. She was intelligent, wise, knowledgeable, and a decent human being. And she wrote great books! R.I.P.

Veteran journalist Cokie Roberts has died at age 75. Cokie was one sharp cookie and the many tributes from her fellow journalists reflected their love and admiration for her, personally and professionally.
