The GLMVPA pot luck has been rescheduled for Sunday, April 7 at the Clare VFW post.
The GLMVPA pot luck for tomorrow has been postponed due to the weather. They do not yet have it rescheduled, but we will let you know as soon as we know. Please pass this along to anyone you know who may be planning to attend.
The annual GLMVPA winter pot luck get together is this Sunday, February 24 in the Outback Room between Jay's and General Jim's in Clare. Hoping to see all of you there, but be careful, the weather prediction is looking a bit iffy.
It is New Year's eve, tomorrow will be 2019, hoping it will be the best year you have experienced yet and your MV dreams all come true.
Hoping everyone has wonderful holiday season and receives whatever tools and/or parts may be on their Christmas list.
The Color Tour was a success in spite of the poor weather we experienced. We need to start thinking about the next board meeting, have not had one in a while, any suggestions?
Only two weeks until the 26th annual Camp Grayling Color Tour! Hopefully you already have your registration and t-shirt orders in. Looking forward to seeing everyone there.
Don't forget the GLMVPA show in Clare next weekend.
We really need to hold a board meeting and the next best date to get everyone together is the March 4th GLMVPA Chili cookoff and Pot Luck at General Jim's/Jay's in Clare at noon. I suggest we plan a meeting for either 11 am prior to things getting going or for later in the afternoon, after the GLMVPA meeting. Anyone else have some ideas?
A very Merry Christmas to everyone and a Happy New Year!
It is here! The Color Tour has begun! Looks like it will be some of the nicest weather we have ever experienced for our 25th! There was already quite a few camps at Wellington last night, hope to see you there also.
Just a few more days and I expect the first arrivals will be at Wellington for the 25th annual Color Tour. Will you be there this year?
Just a reminder, the GLMVPA show in Clare is August 4-6, just a week away. Hope to see y'all there. :)
Just a reminder, this Friday and Saturday, July 22 &23 is the Loomis Battery antique cannon shoot at Camp Grayling.
Proposed Board Minutes 3/5/2017
Proposed Minutes of the Board 2/18/17
From Chris Causley at the Michigan Military Technical & Historical Society museum in East Pointe - The museum is being asked to support an event at the Detroit Arsenal on June 7th, I am working with the PAO and need to put together a list. Are there any MMMT members that might want to participate?
We would meet at the museum at 0700, convoy to the arsenal for the event, which would last until 1300. Looking for 5-10 assorted US MV's. Have anyone interested contact me asap
Have not had a chance to transcribe the tentative minutes from the February 18 meeting yet, but it was a very productive meeting with a very good turnout. Thank you to everyone who attended. The board is planning to have another short meeting at the GLMVPA spring get down in Clare on March 5. There are some big things happening with the foundation and there could be some big changes in our near future. I will try to keep you updated as best I can about these here, but to really be up to date, come on out to the meetings.
Don't forget, board meeting on Saturday at 11:30 am! You do not have to be a board member to attend and make your voice heard, though only board members can vote on motions.
Meeting Notice: Saturday, February 18, 2017; Noon, at Michigan Military Technical & Historical Society Museum in Eastpointe, MI
Happy New Year!
We need to have a meeting soon, who would be interested in having one some time in late January or February at the Michigan Military Technical & Historical Society Museum in East Pointe?
Merry Christmas to you and yours!
We unfortunately could not get access to MATES for the tour for Friday morning, so as of right now, we will see Camp Grayling(proper), SIMs Center and the Grayling Army Airfield UAS platoon and Fire barn. Still a very worthwhile tour, just the SIMs center alone is worth the time, plus we get to see the Airfield UAS and the fire barn, some very cool stuff. The tour will begin @ 09:00 Friday, Sept. 23, 2016 and last approximately 3 hours. This is the last call for people interested in attending as we have to have the full roster to them by close of business today so everyone can get onto Camp in the morning. So far I have;
This is the week! Are you ready? It is Camp Grayling Color Tour time again, hope to see you this weekend, if not before, at Wellington Farm Park for the 24th annual event.
Here is the tentative schedule received from Camp Grayling for the tour of the facilities. It includes a trip to the Grayling Army Air Field to see and learn about some of their UAV's and mentions a possible tour of the MATES facility, which is the vehicle maintenance facility at the south end of range 30. I don't know 'bout ch'all, but a MATES tour and a trip to the air field for a show and tell about the UAV's would be a great field trip to me!

Have asked to see the urban training facility and get into the simulation range, they will check availability and send a suggested itinerary as soon as they can confirm.
In two weeks the first people will begin arriving for the Color Tour, are you almost ready? I still have a LOT of work to do to be anywhere near ready. Looking forward to seeing everyone!
Oh goodness, I just realized that in a month from now the 2016 Color Tour will be over with. Where has the time gone, hope to see you all there!
Don't forget to get your nominations in for board of trustees candidates before the general membership meeting on Saturday, September 24, during the Color Tour.
It is down to only about a month until the Color Tour, which will be September 23 - 25. Do you have your registration in? Do you have your t-shirts ordered? Are your vehicle(s) ready? I am working hard to get a vehicle out there I have not taken before, we shall see if I can get it ready in time. If you need registration or shirt order forms, check out our website or the Great Lakes MVPA website. Don't wait too long though, time will sneak up quicker than you think.
Preliminary Minutes MMMT Board Meeting August 6, 2016
We are losing our president and treasurer as announced at the meeting on Saturday in Clare. Nate and Kathy are making some changes and have to step back from the foundation for now. We are much indebted to them for all the work they have done over the years and wish them well.
This means we are seeking nominations and will be holding elections soon. We are long overdue for elections anyway, have not held any in several years, if anyone would like to join the board or know someone who would, please nominate them.
I will be transcribing and posting the minutes along with sending a copy of them to the newsletter editor in the next couple of days.
The Clare GLMVPA show is this weekend at General Jim's/Jay's Sporting Goods. The president of MMMT has called for a meeting on Saturday afternoon, hope to see everyone there.
