Greetings Aviation Enthusiasts...we hope everyone is well and safe. As you may have guessed, several aviation events have been cancelled. Sadly our June 20th Wings Over Indy event at Indy Executive was a big local casualty.

Sadly, this morning we learned that this summer's EAA AirVenture is not going to happen. We are hoping that maybe some smaller local or regional aviation events can be staged this fall. Stay tuned and positive and above all be safe! https://www.eaa.org/airventure

On January 27, 1967, a fire in the Apollo 1 command module during a preflight test killed Mitchell astronaut Virgil "Gus" Grissom, along with Ed White and Roger Chaffee. The mission was intended to be the first manned flight of the Apollo space program. The accident resulted in safety changes in the program, allowing for the first moon landing in 1969.

Peace for the families of this tragedy

“It is with great sadness that Team Chambliss confirms that our friend and pilot, Steve Andelin, along with two spectators, lost their lives at a private air show in Guatemala on Friday, January 24th. Steve Andelin was flying a plane which carried Red Bull branding, owned by Kirby Chambliss. We are deeply shocked and extend our deepest sympathies to the families involved in this tragic accident.

Out of respect for those involved, we kindly ask that people refrain from posting footage related to the accident.”

Live Spacewalk: Watch as astronauts complete the intricate process of repairing the Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer (AMS), a dark matter and antimatter detector outside the International Space Station.

On Sat., Jan. 25 at 6:50 a.m. EST, tune in for a live spacewalk as Luca Parmitano of the European Space Agency (ESA) and Andrew Morgan of NASA perform the fourth and final spacewalk to repair AMS, which has far outlived its planned three-year lifespan. In addition to revitalizing an important piece of scientific equipment, the process of creating the tools and procedures for these spacewalks is preparing teams for the types of spacewalks that may be required on Moon and Mars missions.
