A wonderful morning with EAA 67!
They brought the pancakes and Little Smokies and Mark VZ brought the PT. Great fun sharing with all the little (and big) people the story of training aircraft in WWII.
Thank you EAA 67 for another one of your great pancake breakfasts.

"A tornado struck Rolling Fork MS and cut a 104 mile path across the state. Rolling Fork was hit the hardest. At 2pm Monday, Steve Fryman from the Indiana Wing called and asked, what do they need? MS Wing member Brandon Stevens got together a list. As of 10 am today, the first of three planes bringing medicine, water, trash sacks, and baby wipes, to name a few items, began unloading. Thanks to Glenn Olsen, pilot of the Beech, for putting this together on their stop at Pensacola yesterday. They delivered nearly 2,000 pounds of supplies and raised $1300 in four hours to procure it all. See y’all soon Indiana Wing. Thanks from the Mississippi Wing of the Commemorative Air Force!"

BOB the Twin Beech has already had its first adventure of the Spring Tour! Pilots Glenn Olsen and Spencer Jordan stopped at a little airport just north of their first destination, and unknowingly landed at BOB's former home base of 20 years! Someone came across the radio and asked what they were doing there, and after it was explained they were on the Air Power History Tour, this gent told the pilots they had 80 hours in BOB from back in the day when it was based there. Their Wing Commander came down today and let us know that they have had a camera sight from BOB that they've held onto for over 20 years. One of our Indiana volunteers, Tim Porter, drove up and picked it up for us, and in their hangar spotted lots of pictures of BOB from back during the time frame it lived there in Mississippi. What a small world, and how neat to see the living history touring across the country again!

Glen Olsen gave my grandson (Ryan) and I a great ride in the vintage C-45. I'm very grateful to Glen, and by extension to all the folks who work so hard to keep the living history of thee iconic aircraft alive. I you follow the link at the end of this post, you'll see a couple tributes to Glen from my wife and I. Again many thanks, Glen. Follow this link: https://www.facebook.com/jim.craner.7
The Commemorative Air Force, Indiana Wing joined the CAF Gulf Coast Wing and Commemorative Air Force That's All, Brother for their stop in Evansville last weekend. The TAB/CGW tour in May & June eventually involved aircraft and members from at least five different CAF units, and that's why we love flying season!

Do you know what kind of plane the Indiana Wing is showing off in this pic?

This features the PT-26 of the Commemorative Air Force, Indiana Wing on display with the JRB Expeditor of the CAF Gulf Coast Wing and Commemorative Air Force That's All, Brother last week in Indianapolis. Do you know what company made the PT-26?

TBM Reunion...thanks for a great show!
Was able to take a ride in one of Commemorative Air Force, Indiana Wing aircraft. The aircraft is a Beech SNB (RC-45J), a U.S. Navy/Marine variant of a Model 18 Twin Beech.
The event begins ONE WEEK FROM TODAY! (and don't forget about the Veterans Expo on May 18th). Another beautiful bird to announce today! Joining us for the event next week will be the Commemorative Air Force, Indiana Wing's Beech SNB (RC-45J). We will have Matt Younkin here performing in a Twin Beech 18, but this particular Beech 18 is the Naval/Marine Corps variant of the aircraft. This SNB was manufactured in 1943 and designated an SNB-2. In 1954, it was remanufactured by Beech and re-designated by the Navy as an SNB-5P (photo reconnaissance trainer). It was later re-designated as RC-45J. This bird has been stationed at bases such as NAS/MCAS Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii and NAS Pensacola, Florida.

Don't forget to have the 2023 TBM Avenger Reunion & Salute to Veterans Airshow on your . We'll have many TBM/TBF Avengers, some historic & rare warbirds, a Night Air Show, Salute to Veterans Parade, and more! May 19th & 20th at Illinois Valley Regional Airport (KVYS) in Peru, Illinois. www.tbmreunion.org

Our #2 aircraft in this year's 12 Planes of Christmas campaign is the Beechcraft SNB Expeditor "Big Oily Beast" from the Commemorative Air Force, Indiana Wing.

The dedicated members of the Indiana Wing have breathed new life into this beautiful aircraft, and they enjoy displaying it so people can see the technology and robustness of the aircraft used during WWII. They would like to embark on an air tour to bring this classic Warbird to those outside Indiana, but the current engine has very few hours left on it. This means that to keep BOB flying next year, the aircraft is going to need a new (rebuilt) left engine.
