This page focuses on a few things. First, I believe in education, and the passing on of knowledge. I like to so methods of construction of armor, tool making, shop set up, and general information about the craft. If you have any questions feel free to ask. Second, I also sell armor, but not so much off the shelf. I make custom armor that is made to fit the wearer. All armor is constructed off of castes of its owner. This way we can make sure it fits correctly the first time. All prices are discussed before work starts, so there are no last minute surprises. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me ether by phone or e-mail. Thanks.

Been a while since I had the chance to armor. So after two years, I'm back in the shop working. Here I'm knocking off the rust with a basic equestrian kit for my wife. She can do mounted combat and foam jousting in this kit. The breast is a brigandine with solid plates in the center line of the breast. It's basically a 15th century translational kit. Building a celeta for her helm and will post more pictures soon. In the later part of March, I'll be jumping back on the back log and working with clients to get their work out to them. I wanted to get a couple little projects out of the way to reshapen the skills, it's been a while. If you have any questions about your orders please contact me at [email protected]. Thanks.

Hey folks, just a quick note. I am still in the middle of the move, I am hoping the shop will be back up and running by late November. Our new house was not left in the best condition by its last owners, so more work is needed than expected. I'll post updates. Thanks again for your support!!

The shop has been doing a little fabrication the last couple weeks. Work has been slow because I have been at the ICU for my Mother in Law who has been having a bad time of it. Nevertheless, we have been trying to keep ourselves a little busy while we can't put 100% into clients projects. Here are a few of the projects we have knocked out. First is three legs adjustable farriers anvil stand. It's custom designed for his use. The second is an anvil stand for the shop. It's holding up my 220lbs anvil in the shop. The four leg basic design is a solid winner. I was going to do something different for the base but changed my mind, so that's why I added the extensions to its base. The last is a coal pan for a early period kitchen setup with three cooking pot stands. We also did some really nice outdoor handrails for a gentleman; when these are installed I'll post some pictures.

Just finished up a rush job for a buddy of mine. Some drunk ran into his trailer and crushed it. This trailer is his lively hood. Calontir Trim, he travels all over the United States selling trim for costumes. Had to build a new side rack for it and install both sides on the new trailer. Saved the boxes on the ends of the old rack and reused them. Fun job. Below are some before pictures.

Little trick for storage of your smaller bar stock. My student Robert Lee came up with it. I used nine foot 2" and nine foot 3 inch Pvc to build these with some home made mounts. Just make sure to hit the studs.

Six months ago I started an Italian Keyhole bascinet, but do to shoulder issues and life in general, it was slowed down. Here is it's picture story to completion. It was delivered today. The visors oil black was not finished, because the new owner has decided to strip it and paint his personal colors onto it. It's a 12 ga mild helm top with a 0.071 4130 heat treated face plate. She is linseed oil blacked. It went to my best friend Dante.

Working out the pointing and straps for my long over due set of legs. Last set I built for me was in 1992. These are 4130 heat treated and oil blacked. The finish is what I call soldiers grade. This means they have some hammer and planishing marks, but at 10 feet you really can't see any of them; of course I offer better finishes, but this is the most inexpensive finish. I wanted to work on a project or two to knock the rust off before I started working on my clients armor; four months was a long time to go without building to just right back into it.

OK, so I'm back in the shop working now. These are the projects we are working at this time.

Patrick's helm
Randy's helm
Mike's helm

Paul's visor refit is finished and will be in the mail tomorrow.

Once we have these helms out the next set of folks will be added to the building now list. Will try to get to all of you as soon as we can. Will keep all of you in the loop as work progresses. It's nice to be working again.

Here is a great set of spaulders my apprentice made. They are 16ga stainless steel, with beautifully added trim of stainless. His build meets all the requirements any piece that leaves my shop does. He does great work. We're asking $200.00 and $25.00 shipping and handling for U. S. buyers. All others pay full shipping cost. If you are interested contact me at syrdavidar[email protected], or message me.
