This is not even remotely okay! Please throw your gloves, temporary masks etc. into a trash receptacle.

Once upon a time, littering was just gross. But now, dropping used masks or gloves on the ground could spur the spread of COVID-19. And it's still gross.

If you wore it to protect yourself, toss it in a trash can to protect everyone else.

Grateful to our two US Senators (Senator Mark Warner and U.S. Senator Tim Kaine) for the extraordinary amount of time they gave the Mayors and Chairs of the Commission on a video conference on #coronavirus related matters and their strong commitment to work with our local governments to provide maximum flexibility in the use of Federal Coronavirus funds. As two former Governors they fully understand the importance of local governments in providing vital services.

Proud of our work with Local Energy Alliance Program (LEAP) and Community Housing Partners to help residents conserve energy and water. For the past four years these efforts have helped more than 6300 families in the region save more than $233,000 in electricity costs, 9.2 million gallons of water and averted more than 2146 tons of CO2. Our #energyefficiency program is on hiatus due to the #Coronavirus pandemic, but we will be back as soon it is safe enough for us to help you save energy, protect the environment and create jobs.

Arlington County Virginia – Government

Making a home made cloth face mask. Simple directions from our colleagues in @Arlington County Virginia – Government. Many thanks to Board Chair Libby Garvey for sharing with us.

Arlington County is encouraging all Arlingtonians to wear cloth face coverings when in public settings where other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain.

This directive is in accordance with a new recommendation from the CDC which encourages the cloth face coverings in public (e.g. grocery stores and pharmacies).

To be clear, this is not meant as a replacement to staying at home, handwashing or maintaining six feet of distance – those remain the cornerstones in the effort to slow the spread of the coronavirus.

The CDC offers three types of cloth face coverings for use:
- Sewn Cloth Face Covering
- Quick Cut T-shirt Face Covering (no sew method)
- Bandana Face Covering (no sew method)

Good advice to stay safe while enjoying the outdoors. Help #stopthespread of the #coronavirus.

We encourage kids and families to be responsible when using the outdoors during this time. We know that having access to the outside is crucial for mental health benefits right now but it is critical to continue practicing social distancing.

Please reference social distancing as illustrated in this graphic by the NRPA and review our safety guidelines for pedestrians and bikers online. https://bit.ly/307nSWM
