Collingwood Library and Museum Collingwood Library and Museum is a historical site that was built in the 1700’s and bought by George Washington as a river farm.

The site offers almost 9 acres of land and free space. We offer the location today along with the amazing view of the water to any special events for anyone that would like to use the house or our banquet hall for their special day.

U3A Yarra City Inc.will be further exploring the challenges and opportunities relating to ageing and ageism that they introduced at their forum last year. This year, they will look at what are the opportunities for action.

Using the City of Yarra’s Active and Healthy Ageing in Yarra Strategy 2018-2024 as their framework, Nina Hansen will introduce a panel of experts to speak about the Strategy and how you can contribute to it as well as benefit from living in Yarra. They will consider social aspects of ageing and introduce the concept of co-design, an approach to design that includes older people in the design of initiatives to enhance everyday living in our community.

The event will be held on Tuesday, 15 October from 10:30am to 12:30pm at Collingwood Library Meeting Room, 11 Stanton Street, Abbotsford.

Back in 1963 thru 1964 I had my first job ( I was 17) as a busboy when Collingwood was a restraught. I lived close by on Fort Hunt Road and graduated from Ft. Hunt High and during WWII my father was stationed at Fort Hunt a intelligence officer.
