March 8th is International Women's Day!

In this collage we made it brings awareness of the gendered pink tax, weight of political violence, societies expectations, culture of harm, & a survivors journey through lack of protections building up till we burst through a western lense.
mediums used: magazine clippings & mod poge

People are allowed to protest, it's our right. Those who do, should not have to fear law enforcement retalitation or punishment from people in positions of authority.

When you protest & are met with violence & or punishment, your rights are being taken away from you. Scared & doing it anyway IS brave, but to be told to "stay home if you can't handle it" is ignoring the psychological abuse from those who are in power. We are allowed to exercise our right without being murdered, beaten, r***d, imprisoned for doing so.

For those that challenge for change to be a more progressive society doesn't equal being traumatized by community members.

Unlearn that. Stop making trauma palatable or an everyday certainty when choosing to stand for human rights.

We support those who speak up & make their voices known. Abolish industries of authority that destroy humans rights! Keep ice melting!

Trying to apply yourself as an artist during the AI wave has given plenty of disheartening moments these several years.

I've been struggling to find joy & curiosity during those times.

For years having our own pieces locked away in the house for fears of being shadowed by constant fast computer generators.

What's gotten me through those phases has been visiting places that have art made by humans. Wether by locals in small businesses or dead celebrities in massive museums.

The human connection always drives motivation to get back to what I enjoy most; taking time to express emotions.

I have to stop getting in my own way & grab the motivation to apply ourselves in taking those risks of flops to learn from them with grace & patience.

Today's as good as any day.

If you're a local artist who's; had the same thoughts or want to share more of your own feel free to in the comments.

I'm curious how others in the community have been feeling during this wave of AI 'art'. While also navigating creating your own pieces, applying yourself to be seen for commissions, & or finding like minded creators to vent/strategize with.

A day late, so I hope y'all didn't hold your breath.

These materials I've had for years & finally got through the image we wanted to convey.

These two pieces are called "Seeds for Change" & "LAST YEAR, June 15 2020".

Both are made on top of felted/paper cardstock then put magazine clippings & modge podge on it.

Thanks for viewing!

We found local art on our walk out tonight.

A sticker from the post office that says; "SAVE DEMOCRACY" *ANTIFACISM*.

Universe gives us reminders in familiar places from people we may never meet.

May this be a reminder to those who need it

December 17th is International End Violence Against S*x Workers Day.

This means decriminalizing s*x work in all facets! S*x workers, their clientele, friends, families, & allies do not deserve violence for wanting human rights, workers rights, health autonomy rights!

S*x workers do not deserve to be attacked for their residency, immigration status, family style, work choices.

S*x Workers do deserve to come home safe; live their lives without fears of imprisonment, abuse, homelessness, harmful legislation, & deportation just because of their work.

Human rights for all, for everyone, everywhere!

Choose books written for education on s*x workers rights. Check your local library & advocate for books that bring awareness to s*x workers journeys of rights & autonomy.

RECOMMENDATIONS BELOW:

"Playing the W***e" by Melissa Gira Grant

"Revolting Prostitutes" by Molly Smith & Juno Mac

"Not Your Rescue Project" by Chanelle Gallant & Elene Lam

"Working it S*x Workers on the Work of S*x" by Matilda Bickers, Peech Bresheers, Janis Luna, & Molly Smith

Stay educated & ask questions friends. Love Always Kosmos โ™กโ™กโ™ก

"When you support a small businessโ€ฆ itโ€™s never just a $20 order.

That $20 just bought dinner for the night.
That $50 covered a kidโ€™s school supplies.
That $100 helped pay the electric bill.

This isnโ€™t a giant corporation where your money disappears into a boardroom bonus.
This is someoneโ€™s dream, livelihood, and everyday life.

Behind every order is a deep breath of relief.
A โ€œthank God.โ€
A โ€œweโ€™re gonna be okay.โ€

So if youโ€™ve ever supported my business whether it was a purchase, a share, or a referralโ€”youโ€™ve done more than you know.๐Ÿ–คโœจ
Youโ€™ve made it possible for me to keep going.
And that means everything. ๐Ÿซถ๐Ÿผ"
