Grape Day Park includes playstructure Vinehenge (built by Nature Works, Valerie Salatino and Nancy Moran designers/artists), restrooms, picnic tables, wi-fi, horseshoe pits, giant games to check out, rose garden, military tribute, and children's tile art wall. Attractions include the Escondido History Center, California Center for the Arts, Escondido, City Hall and foundtain and the James A Stone.

Back in the early 1900s when the Escondido area was covered with vineyards, folks started celebrating Grape Day. The tradition continues Saturday with grape stomping, wine drinking and games
Grape Day Festival is in just THREE WEEKS! Come on down on Saturday, October 7, 2-8pm, for some awesome family fun!! Bronner's Magic Soap will be here to cover you head to toe, in fluffy white soap... the beer and wine garden will feature Stumblefoot Brewery... AWESOME food including a chili cook-off between the EPD, EFD, and the History Center... entertainment on the main stage... PIE EATING contest (with prizes!!)... GRAPE Stomping ... For The KIDS... jump houses... clowns... face painting... magic sand art... games... climb on a the EPD SWAT vehicle... take photos with EFD's Old Betsy... Super Exciting Raffle, and so so SO MUCH more. Don't miss this awesome family event! (The Bandy Blacksmith Guild will be WELL represented! Come out to see some of their AWESOME projects including the Rancho Bernardo Mud Wagon)

Movies in the Park - Saturday, July 8... fun begins around 6pm with dodgeball and other fun games with crew from City Recreation. Come early for a spot on the grass, bring your low-backed chair, beach blanket (and regular blanket!), and a few dollars for goodies!
Have dinner with Chick Fila, dessert with Rita's Ice, candy, popcorn, and drinks with the Escondido History Center. Don't forget to visit Heavenly Scents in the Penner Barn!
Bring a nonperishable food item to donate or buy something from the EHC booth to be entered into the drawing to take home the movie at the end of the night!

Hello Escondido! The Escondido History Center, in collaboration with Old Escondido is proud to announce our app is LIVE! A concrete channel that cuts through a large chunk of Escondido may get a makeover, as conservationists begin planning to restore Escondido Creek to its natural state.
Dear Escondido Residents:
If you are interested in donating nonperishable food items and toiletries to those in need this season, we are taking donations at the EHC office in Grape Day Park. Beginning Tuesday, November 7, you can drop off food items and bagged toiletries at the Escondido History Center office (directly opposite the new playground): Tuesdays through Saturdays, 10am - 4pm.
