Sycamore Shoals State Historic Park

Over the past two days we welcomed every 4th grader in the Elizabethton City and Carter County school systems to Sycamore Shoals to learn about the Overmountain Men and life on the 18th century frontier. Many thanks to our dedicated volunteers and the Overmountain Victory Trail Association for providing such interesting, fun, and informative stations.

Do you remember where you were when this tragedy struck? We will never forget 9/11.

This event, sponsored by “A Walk in Their Boots”, paid tribute to the soldiers and civilian war effort programs of the WWII era. Thank you to all of the organizers, presenters, reenactors, volunteers, veterans, and historic interpreters for making this incredible event possible, and for keeping our history alive!
