Art comes and art goes and this fluidity is what keeps life interesting! Today we said goodbye to George Rickey's "Six Lines in a T II" that had resided in Peter's Pond for the past four years. This kinetic sculpture moved with the wind and delighted us with its dance, each one not quite like the last. We loved having this sculpture at LongHouse but we have a full line up of new art to share with you in the spring...stay tuned! Photo by LongHouse friend Gary Mamay.

It's the end of the year and we are proud to say that in 2019 we welcomed more visitors than ever before, AND more school children! It is our greatest joy to see guests sharing the joy of art in the gardens with loved ones. We are especially proud that so many students are inspired by LongHouse and return year after year. LongHouse is a place that welcomes everyone and we look forward to being that place in 2020 and beyond. Please help us share the magic of LongHouse by making a contribution to our Annual Appeal...there's still time! Each dollar helps and keeps our admission free to all children and school groups. We're looking to raise $20,000 more to reach our goal by December 31...will you start the ball rolling? Any amount is deeply appreciated, click here to donate: http://bit.ly/2RBM3e9. Thank you!

Did you visit LongHouse this year and spend some time at Peter's Pond? Here's what LH founder Jack Lenor Larsen says about this water feature in his book "Learning From LongHouse":
"To us, it seems amazing that there are so few such ponds, as they are the easiest and least costly feature to build. A pond also remains lowest to maintain. Peter's Pond is a favorite place for all season. In winter, ice supports a field of snow, then disappears with the remaining vegetation. By spring, the open expanse of water becomes a mirror for bursts of cherry blossom and the earliest daffodils. Come summer, we enjoy a thousand water lilies, followed by tall, exotic lotus. The frogs, and birds entertain us, and the swallows gobble the mosquitoes." "Learning From LongHouse" is available to purchase at LongHouse by emailing us at [email protected] or online here at INstore: http://bit.ly/34ABBGo. It's a great gift!

We visited yesterday - so happy we did ... your property is amazing and we will have to come back again and again to keep discovering the beauty of it all at different times of the year. My pictures can't even do your place justice - its just something everyone needs to see and feel themselves.😍🥰❤️
I would say that our experience at LongHouse Reserve was unforgettable to say the least!
