Friends, we have sad news to share. Jack Lenor Larsen has passed away. As much as we knew this day would eventually come, this is a difficult and sorrowful time for us all. Jack left this world peacefully at LongHouse, his beloved home at the age of 93.

We thank you for your love, appreciation and admiration of our dear Jack and we loved hearing your stories of your meeting Jack, working with Jack or having a piece of furniture that had that "Larsen Look." If you would like to leave a remembrance, please feel free to do so in the comments.

We are now more dedicated than ever to keep Jack's dream of LongHouse as a place of inspiration, transformation and restoration.

When you're a snake they let you stick your tongue out in the garden 🐍. The Snake, part of Ai Weiwei's "Circle of Animals/Zodiac Heads: Bronze" is one bad hombre but he doesn't seem to take himself too seriously either...maybe we're reading too much into it 😊. Have you visited LongHouse and found your Zodiac head; which one are you? Make plans to visit us soon before we close for the season on December 19, get tickets at longhouse.org. "Circle of Animals/Zodiac Heads: Bronze" will also be on view through 2021.

A view of the Larsen archives...textiles galore! It is sometimes mind blowing to look through LH founder Jack Lenor Larsen's work and realize how it has shaped the world of design for decades. Curator Wendy Van Deusen oversees the collection - a labor of love indeed!

Woooo some roses just don't know when to quit 😊. Our horticulturist Holger Winenga has been creating the most exquisite arrangements for our check-in desk using what he finds in the garden. This Saturday Holger will lead a garden walk called "Bark and Berries" highlighting our four season garden and the wonderful blend of textures and colors found in late autumn. Join the fun and see for yourself! Get tickets for the walk here: https://bit.ly/2H7T8QG.
