Members want to network together and promote chemistry and science in the local community. The North Carolina Section of the American Chemical Society (NC-ACS) is the local section for the National ACS Organization representing the following counties: Bladen, Granville, Moore, Robeson, Caswell, Halifax, Nash, Sampson, Chatham, Harnett, Northampton, Scotland, Cumberland, Hoke, Orange, Vance, Durham, Johnston, Person, Wake, Edgecombe, Lee, Randolph, Warren, Franklin, and Martin.

Senior Research Scientist in Devices – UNC Chapel Hill

The University of North Carolina Energy Frontier Research Center (UNC EFRC) for Solar Fuels is seeking a senior research scientist to develop, implement, and manage collaborative research on the development and fabrication of semiconductor materials and devices, incorporating molecular assemblies, of broad interest to the EFRC (www.efrc.unc.edu). Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Chemistry focused on materials chemistry, with preference given to candidates with experience in thin film fabrication and characterization, supported by electrochemical, spectroscopic and analytical techniques. All entries have been posted to the section’s YouTube page (https://www.youtube.com/user/NCAmChemSoc) and are included in playlists based on their age group (K-8 grade, 9-12 grade, adult). If you are interested, please view the videos and “like” the video in each category that you thought was the most creative, informative, entertaining, or well-made. Voting is open to the public, so please only “like” one video per category, and please tell your friends to vote, too!
