Thank you to all the organizers, volunteers and participants who helped make another Red Rooster Days a wonderful success! Special thanks to Saturday's featured speaker at the History Center, Shari Carlsted (left) of Tempe, Arizona, pictured with her second-grade teacher, Ruth Christensen, Dassel; and classmate Colleen McCarty, Hutchinson. Among the many people who enjoyed a chicken dinner in the Event Center and toured the museum were Fernando Olvera (left), Minneapolis; Samantha Anderson, Hopkins; and Hunter Anderson, Dassel. Watch for more photos and information in the October edition of the Dassel Dispatch.

We were honored to host the rehearsals and get a sneak peek of The FungusAmongus Players of Dassel-Cokato's entry in tomorrow's Fast*Fest at the Theatre in the Round in Minneapolis. The one-act play "In the Attic" stars JennyGrace Nelson and Matthew Miller as young Ophelia and Hamlet. It combines the banter and budding romance of the two before the tragedy of Shakespeare's masterpiece "Hamlet." The play will be the second act tomorrow afternoon and is directed by David Metcalf and Levi A. Nelson.
