We at the Darien Historical Society were pleased to be awarded the Excellence In Historic Preservation Medal by the Downers Grove Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution for the restoration and framing of the 1861 Cass Flag now on display at the Old Lace Schoolhouse and Museum in Darien. Presenting the award is Winnie Barbato, Regent for the Downers Grove Chapter of the DAR and accepting and spearheading the resoration project is Dean Rodkin, President of the Darien Historical Society. Also pictured is Joe Marchese, Mayor of the City of Darien, and Debi Curtis, Vice Regent of the Downers Grove Chapter of the DAR.
