A tradition since 1971, the Governor's Awards showcase and celebrate exceptional Ohio artists, arts organizations, arts leaders and patrons and business support of the arts. Award recipients are presented with the only arts award in the state that is conferred by the governor.

In recognition of their impactful and visionary leadership in Ohio’s creative sector and their sustained dedication to promoting artistic excellence, awardees will be honored during a ceremony on May 17, 2023.

Friday, July 15- Sunday, July 17
Lakeside will host more than 30 plein air artists from across the Midwest.
Throughout the weekend, guests are invited to watch artists paint in Lakeside.

"A Wet Paint Sale" will take place on the Pavilion lawn,
Sunday from 1:30-3:30pm.
Plein air artists will display original paintings that were completed over the weekend, some of which will be for sale.

“VAC VISIONARIES, FOUNDERS AND FRIENDS". “Visionaries”, focuses on those inspired artists who founded and created the legacy that The Art Center continues with today, after 50 years!!!

Join me at The Wet Paint Sale during the 2020 Lakeside Plein Air Art Festival!

Sunday, July 19th
2:30 - 4:00 pm
at Bettinger Park near the Pavilion

This three-day event begins on Friday, when more than 40
plein air artists set up easels across Lakeside to paint outdoor landscapes. All are welcome to watch them paint.

The event includes a "Plein Air Paintout" along the lakeshore from 12:30 to 2 p.m. on Sunday followed by the "Wet Paint Sale" from 2:30 to 4 p.m., when paintings created over the entire weekend are sold.

Children are invited to join in the "Paintout" from 1 to 3:30 p.m.
This event is held in conjunction with the Lakeside Wooden Boat Show with live entertainment on Sunday, July

The Yards Projects @ Worthington Yards presents access to some of the best contemporary art from our region,
reflecting the diversity, history and culture of Cleveland.

Unlike attending a gallery or museum exhibition, the Resident's Select Annual Exhibition promotes an appreciation of art as something that can enhance the lives of those living in the space where the exhibit occurs.

The Yards Projects received over 70 submissions.
Six residents and staffers from Worthington Yards selected the work and participated in the curatorial and programming decisions. A special thanks to those residents and staff: Suzy Stang, Heidi Quicksilver, Grant Fischesser, Amelia McDonnell, Heidi DuBois, Thea Spittle, and Samantha Whitney!
