Collinwood School Fire of 1908

Collinwood School Fire of 1908 This page promoting the book written my Ed Kern about the Collinwood School Fire of 1908

Welcome to my website on my book THE COLLINWOOD SCHOOL FIRE OF 1908. I am EDWARD (SONNY) KERN who wrote the book and lost 4 family membes on March 4,1908 the day of the fire. This school fire took the lives of 172 children,2 teachers and 1 collinwood resident. I spent 7 years sifting through tons of newspaper clippings and photographs from public and private archives and conducted interviews with the last 3 survivors of the tragedy years ago that killed 175 people. This is a detailed and devastating account of the fire that killed 175 victims--most of them school children under 14 years of age--and stunned the world and changed safety laws. This 87 page book with 24 pages of photographs of the fire and children can be bought from me for $18 by phone 216-990-5209. I welcome family members of the victims to make comments along with anyone else who wants to join in and make comments. Thank You. EDWARD ( SONNY) KERN

Hello! I’ve been trying to find more info on this book, and I just found this page! Is the book still for sale? I’ve been fascinated with this subject since I first learned about it in 2008 (I only just moved to the Cleveland area in 2004). I am currently reading James Jessen Badal’s new book, and I also read Marshall Everett’s book a few years back. I didn’t realize your book existed until I saw it referenced in Badal’s book! Thank you for any info you can provide on purchasing your book!
