Chesterfield Museum and Visitor Center

Chesterfield Museum and Visitor Center CHESTERFIELD HISTORICAL SOCIETY was organized to stimulate, promote, preserve and encourage an interest in local history, past and present.

THE HISTORY MUSEUM houses collected documents, relics, and artifacts donated by the citizens of Chesterfield County 1884 Courthouse Heritage & Visitors Center with its imposing cupola, was built to replace the previous courthouse which was burned by Sherman's troops during the Civil War. A monument on the grounds marks the site of the first succession meeting held in the South preceding the Civil War.
