Perched atop a hill in Chester Springs, overlooking the arborous valleys of Chester County farmland, the Longview Farm sits on 12 acres of wildflower meadows and hardwood forest with a long view of the countryside. Built in the 1850s and

run as a working farm and private retreat for most of its life, the Longview Farm is now a place of creativity, human connection, family building, and environmental awareness. It is a place for the arts and earth communities to come together to escape the hustle and bustle, enjoy nature, find connection, and inspire each other mutually.

Come be a pollinteer! A new pollinator habitat is going in at Longview Farm this June.
We’re planting native flowers like milkw**d, bee balm, goldenrod, and asters, chosen to bloom across the season and feed the bees, butterflies, and other pollinators that have been losing ground in Chester County and across Pennsylvania.
We’d love your company for the first workday in mid-June. No experience needed. Food and conversation included.
The sign-up form link is right here as well as in the first comment of this post.

Federal conservation funding came through, and the work to start our pollinator habitat begins next weekend.
Saturday, June 13 and Sunday, June 14, from 9 AM to 1 PM — hands-on volunteer days at Longview Farm. We’re spreading plastic across the field edges to prepare the ground for native wildflowers and grasses that, by next summer, will bring back bees, butterflies, and birds.
Come for an hour or the whole morning. Sunday includes a small potluck afterward, 2-5 PM, during Gallery hours.

If you’d like to be part of it, the sign-up form is linked below. You can copy and paste into your browser.

Alfred Bradley Jr, the son of artist Evelyn C Facison, makes functional wood pieces that play with form. He uses locally sourced, quality materials such as maple, pine, and African mahogany. In the “Art and Legacy” exhibition, he has included 3 6ft-tall floor lamps, 4 table lamps, and 4 tables with steel legs. Some lamps can be bought in pairs at a discounted price 🪵

TOMORROW JUNE 6TH we have the midshow reception for this exhibition. There will be a Q/A with Alfred from 5-6pm followed by live acoustic music outdoors 6-8pm. BYOB, family-friendly event. Please join us!!

These two still life paintings are by Evelyn C Facison. She painted a variety of subject matter, but flowers seem to have been a particular interest.
An interest in natural matter being something she and her son have in common 🌿

Evelyn Cleopatra Facison was a formidable presence in the mid-twentieth century: an entrepreneur, artist, and mother whose life and career were multifaceted.

Her work is on view at Longview Farm in Chester Springs, PA through the end of June.
Join us tomorrow, June 6, from 5 to 8 PM at 143 Cedar Lane for the midshow reception.

Evelyn’s son Alfred will be here for a Q&A about her life and work, and his own woodworking pieces are on display alongside hers.

The final reception follows on June 27.
Come spend an evening on the farm with us in Chester County.

There’s a pollinator habitat going in at Longview Farm this summer, and we’d love to have you join us.
We’re planting a patch of native species like milkw**d, bee balm, goldenrod, and joe-pye w**d. They bloom across the season and feed the bees, butterflies, and other pollinators that have been losing ground in our region. A field like ours, planted with care, becomes part of a network of habitat patches across Chester County.

The first workday is in mid-June. Come spend the day at the farm with us. We’ll have food and good company while we work, and what gets planted now will keep growing here for years.

If you’d like to be part of it, fill out the interest form. You can find the link below or in the first comment of this post.

We’re featured on BrandywineValley.com — and we’re celebrating with something worth the drive. 🌿

Brandywine Valley is one of Chester County’s most beloved destinations for art, culture, and the kind of places that feel like they’ve always belonged here. Being recognized as part of that community means a lot to us.

This Saturday, June 7, join us for the midshow reception of Art and Legacy — our third exhibition of the year, and one of the most meaningful we’ve hosted.
Alfred Newell Bradley Jr. brings his late mother’s paintings into the gallery alongside his own wood creations — two generations of creative work, in conversation for the first time.
His mother, Evelyn Cleopatra Facison, was an artist, entrepreneur, and gallery owner in Philadelphia whose career spanned continents and disciplines. Her work studied at PAFA. Her legacy is still unfolding.

Friday, June 6 · 5–8pm Longview Farm · Chester County

Come see what a family story looks like hanging on a wall.
