Located in Uptown Charlotte, N.C., the NASCAR Hall of Fame is an interactive, entertainment attraction honoring the history and heritage of NASCAR. The high-tech venue, designed to educate and entertain race fans and non-fans alike, opened May 11, 2010 and includes artifacts, interactive exhibits, and a 278-person state-of-the-art theater. The goal of the facility is to honor NASCAR icons and crea
te an enduring tribute to the drivers, crew members, team owners and others that have impacted the sport in the past, present and future. Scott served three years in the U.S. Army during World War II where he honed his mechanical skills and began racing in 1947, experiencing immediate success behind the wheel. Join us in wishing Class of 2018 NASCAR Hall of Famer & Crew Chief of the Rainbow Warriors Ray Evernham a Happy Birthday! Evernham guided fellow Hall of Famer Jeff Gordon and the No. 24 team to three championships in four seasons (1995, 1997, 1998), and a series-leading 49 wins in the 1990s. Among their triumphs were two Daytona 500s (1997, 1999) and two Brickyard 400s (1994, 1998).

Inman was Richard Petty’s crew chief at Petty Enterprises for nearly three decades, setting records for most wins (193) and championships (8) by a crew chief. He won seven of those championships with inaugural NASCAR Hall of Famer Richard Petty (1964, 1967, 1971, 1972, 1974, 1975 and 1979), and another one in 1984 with another Hall of Famer, Terry Labonte.

Yesterday, Phoenix Raceway unveiled a mural honoring the life and legacy of NASCAR Hall of Famer Wendell Scott in partnership with the Shining Light Foundation's Black History Mural Project. Wendell Scott's legacy continues to be felt in NASCAR today as he was the first Black driver to race full time in the Cup Series, and the first to win a race. This mural from artists Jennifer White and Lucretia Torva will educate and inspire, highlighting the fearless accomplishments of this NASCAR pioneer.
