September 17-23 we are celebrating the signing of our Constitution. We have set up a display at the Villa Rica Public Library for the entire month of September featuring a copy of the Constitution along with other items to help commemorate this event. There are also some really good books to consider checking out. We welcome the community to come visit the display to celebrate the document that protects our rights as Americans. 🇺🇸

We were honored to sit down with Newstalk 1330 WLBB and Terry Lowry with the Georgia State Defense Force Band to share more about our free concert this Saturday, August 29 at the Carrollton Center for the Arts at 2 PM. There will be picture opportunities, Patriotic goodies, and refreshments for everyone to help celebrate America’s 250th Anniversary!

🇺🇸 Honoring Our Local Veterans Through the Gift of a Letter 🇺🇸

A group of our DAR daughters from the Abraham Baldwin Chapter, NSDAR recently gathered at Impact West Georgia to sort, organize, and carefully pack personal letters written to Veterans from our local community who will be traveling on the upcoming Carroll County Honor Flight: Mission 1. ✈️🇺🇸

We are honored to play a small part in making this experience even more meaningful for these deserving Veterans. Every letter represents a reminder that their service, sacrifice, and dedication to our nation have not been forgotten.

Thank you to all of our DAR daughters who gave their time to help prepare these special messages, and to everyone in our community who took the time to write a letter.

🇺🇸 Save the Date for an Unforgettable Patriotic Concert! 🇺🇸

The Abraham Baldwin Chapter, NSDAR, is proud to partner with the Carrollton Center for the Arts and the Georgia State Defense Force concert celebrating our nation’s heritage!

The Georgia State Defense Force traces its roots back to the Revolutionary War when it was known as the Georgia Militia—making this a truly meaningful performance for those who appreciate America’s history.

🎶 The concert will feature:
🇺🇸 An Armed Forces Medley
⭐ A Revolutionary War/Nathan Hale Medley
🍑 A Georgia Medley
🥁 Patriotic marches and inspiring musical selections

For the grand finale, the Georgia State Defense Force Band will be joined by special guest musicians, filling the stage with an incredible display of musical talent!

If you got a chance to attend the Atlanta Braves game on July 4, then you saw one of our special chapter members assisting with the cannon display as part of the pre-game show. Rachel Word joined her husband, Chad Word with the Sons of the American Revolution to bring patriotic festivities to those attending the game. Chad was part of the Flag Corps with the SAR.

The evening was made even sweeter as the Braves beat the Mets 14-3.

Happy Independence Day! Our chapter continues celebrating our nation’s 250th Birthday with the Carrollton parade where members dressed up in colonial attire and rode in our float alongside members of the Casimir Pulaski Chapter Sons of the American Revolution. Our float won 2nd place by the Carrollton Evening Sertoma Club at today’s parade!

Several of our members sat along the parade route snd passed out 250 flags and 100 custom patriotic buttons made by our chapter members to give to children and adults attending the parade.

As America prepares to celebrate the 250th anniversary of our nation’s founding, members of the Abraham Baldwin Chapter, NSDAR, were honored to join the Casimir Pulaski Chapter, SAR, for Villa Rica’s July 3rd Fireworks and America’s 250th Celebration.

Dressed in colonial attire and patriotic red, white, and blue, our members enjoyed sharing the story of our nation’s founding while distributing American flags and commemorative patriotic buttons throughout the evening. It was a joy to celebrate with so many members of our community and to honor the enduring ideals of liberty, patriotism, and service that continue to unite us.

The celebration continues tomorrow! Join us at the Carrollton Independence Day Parade beginning at 10:00 AM, where we’ll once again be handing out patriotic buttons and American flags.

Following the parade, we’ll travel to Tallapoosa for the grand opening of the West Georgia Veterans Memorial Museum at 12:00 PM. Several of our Daughters have generously given their time and talents to help prepare this wonderful museum for opening day, and we are excited to celebrate this milestone as we honor the brave men and women whose service has preserved the freedoms our Patriot ancestors fought to secure.

From remembering our nation’s founding to honoring those who have defended it through the generations, this Independence Day reminds us that freedom is both a precious gift and a lasting responsibility.

Our chapter was honored to attend and place a wreath at the Casimir Pulaski Chapter, NSSSAR grave marking service of Captain Thomas A. Hinesley who began serving in the American Revolution at age 16 and served until the war ended. He is one of 17 Patriots who is buried in Carroll County.

Thank you, Captain Hinesley for your service to our country 🇺🇸
