What a special DAR meeting on Monday! 🇺🇸
Our members gathered to share a piece of history close to our hearts. We loved seeing everyone’s precious family photos and heirlooms and hearing the stories behind them. We also shared our favorite hobbies and hidden talents. One of our members had two of her amazing photographs published in National Geographic! It is amazing to see how our chapter's creative and talented women shine outside of our meetings! Do you have a favorite family heirloom or hobby you love? Tell us in the comments below! 👇

Honoring Our Revolutionary War Patriots Near Lake Milton 🇺🇸
Yesterday, members of the Mahoning Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution and the Mahoning Valley Sons of the American Revolution came together for a deeply moving joint plaque dedication ceremony. We gathered at the Lake Milton State Park Amphitheater to honor and remember 22 Revolutionary War patriots who made the ultimate sacrifice and are buried right here in our community near Lake Milton. Thanks to the dedication of our members, local historians, and community supporters, these brave individuals and their service to American independence will never be forgotten. Thank you to everyone who attended, spoke, or helped make this special dedication possible. 📸 Please enjoy a few photos from the ceremony!

Mahoning Chapter DAR was honored to gather with our community at East Liverpool today to witness the dedication of the new SAR Revolutionary War Patriots Marker! 🇺🇸 🇺🇸
This monument honors the 152 brave Patriots who fought valiantly for American Independence and are resting peacefully within Columbiana County.
The Mahoning Valley SAR, several DAR chapters, community members, local officials, and descendants joined together for this meaningful dedication. As we commemorate the 250th anniversary of our nation, the SAR and DAR remain dedicated to preserving the legacy of those who secured our freedoms.

Celebrating America 250 in Ellsworth Twp 🎆 🇺🇸
Saturday, we had the profound privilege of honoring the brave men who fought for our nation's independence and later helped settle the beautiful lands of Ellsworth Township. This family-friendly event was held at Ellsworth Park and featured a Mahoning Chapter DAR member who gave a reading during the recognition ceremony of the Revolutionary War soldiers who are buried within the township. In addition to the live music, the VFW gave a 21 gun salute, followed by taps and the evening concluded with fireworks.

History comes alive! ✨
Several members of the Mahoning and Jane Bain DAR Chapters were honored to participate in the 'America 250 Voices of Democracy' event, held at the Salem Public Library. They partnered with the Salem Community Theater to host this immersive historical evening which brought to life such pivotal figures in American history as Alexander Hamilton, Betsy Ross, Ulysses S Grant, Theodore Roosevelt, John F Kennedy and Susan B Anthony. Through powerful monologues and historical readings community members stepped into the shoes of the American patriots and pioneers who built our country, giving visitors a unique opportunity to connect with the people behind the pages of history. From founding mothers to revolutionary patriots, it was a fantastic way to honor those who shaped our nation.
We're honored to have been part of this meaningful celebration as we look ahead to America's 250th anniversary. ❤️ 🇺🇸
