Finally a photo of Del Stelling - He was the editor, reporter and photographer (and sometimes salesman) for the Minnesota Valley Review established in 1959 and remained an active journalist for Savage, Burnsville and Eagan until about 1985 when he retired. Thanks to the Dan Patch Historical Society we have been able to go through Del's negatives and finding a wealth of never seen photos including finally a photo of Del himself! Estimated date 1985. Del Stelling 1917 - 1990.

When built in the 1960s it was Connelly Estates and then became Colonial Villa and now 2021 the new owners rebranded it to be Connelly on Eleven. The Historical Society worked with their designer to find Connelly farm images for the office/gym/party room newly built at the complex. They had purchased a large 1916 Burnsville map, which shows WIlliam #1 and wife Bridget as owners, so this branding of the Connelly name is set in the year 1916.

An unplanned find this morning for the Historical Society's collection. There are few actual photos of the Burnsville Village - then Town Hall on County Road 5 (just photo copies). Today while in the lobby at Ames Construction they were playing video of their history and this image came up. Ames purchased the property and building from the City and has obviously expanded over the years.

Then 1966 - September 29, 1966 Dakota County Tribune: Abdallah, established in 1909 in Minneapolis, arrives in Burnsville 1966. The 12,000 square foot building housing Abdallah candy company in Burnsville is located in the River Wood Industrial Park on Highway 13. They then moved to the building on 12th Avenue, near the Post Office, left there and moved to County Road 42. Eventually they expanded and moved their factory to an Apple Valley location. Now 2021 - The Burnsville location, County Road 42 closing.

I’m trying to find information about “Franco’s” or more commonly known as Benchwarmer Bobs. I’ve heard rumors about it. That I was a disco back in the day. Does anyone know anything about the building!?
This photo on the website is inaccurately labeled as "Burnsville Center 1970s" It's either the very late 80s or the early 90s.
