The Department of Classics’ graduate students take advantage of the University at Buffalo's great location by visiting the nearby Corning Museum of Glass which has extensive ancient glass on display. They were joined by their Classics professor, Dr. Alessandro Sebastiani.

One of our very own students won a piece from the glass making show and generously donated it to our department.

"Digital Dialogues" –
December 2018 Brown-Bag

At this brown-bag lunch, the second in the new library series called "Digital Dialogues," we will hear from Neil Coffee, Professor of Classics and Co-Director of the Tesserae Project, a web interface for exploring intertextual parallels, and from Kevin Garstki, the 2018-2019 IEMA Postdoctoral Scholar, who will speak about his experience with photogrammetry and 3D modeling in archaeology.
This series highlights ongoing digital scholarship across campus by faculty, staff, and students, bridging the disciplines to spark conversations on creating and using digital tools in higher education, both in and outside of the classroom. The series is hosted by the UB Libraries and organized by Heidi Dodson and Rachel Starry, the libraries' postdoctoral fellows. All are welcome; please join us for the conversation!

Date: Monday, December 3, 2018
Time: 12:00pm - 1:00pm
Location: 310 Silverman
Campus: North Campus
