Mezzo soprano Anna Tonna and Classical Spanish Dance artist Anna de la Paz have enjoyed a 10 year collaboration both as performing artists and arts educators with Hispanic Society Library and Museum, Amigos de la Zarzuela, Between the Seas Festival and the Round Top Festival in Upstate New York. There are several unique programs including, but not limited to:
1. Β‘Viva La Zarzuela!: expo
ses children to the variety of cultural expressions found in zarzuela.
2. Danzas Hispaniolas: offers an opportunity to bring two important Hispanic cultures together through Spanish and Mexican dances.
3. The Duchess of Washington Heights: brings Goyaβs painting, La Duquesa de Alba, to life through music, dance and fashion.
4. Trio of Paintings: brings to life and connects the worlds of three separate characters in paintings found at the Hispanic Society of America. La Duquesa de Alba, MarΓa Catalina de Urrutia and Mestizo and Indian Produces Coyote come together through music and dance. Embodying a human experience in the arts helps students understand their cultural heritage
