Noube Productions five steps on how to get into Industry

1. Become a triple threat
No matter what field of media you are pursuing, you have to constantly separate yourself from the competition. Being able to know the basics of storytelling (filming, editing , and on air talent) is extremely important in getting a job. Knowing what each position does allows you to become more proficient in executing your specific craft. In addition, it makes you a hirable candidate for entry level jobs.

2. Create a demo reel 1-3 mins
Having a video demo reel is crucial to any job or internship in the media arts field. Whether you're an aspiring actor, editor, cinematographer , or reporter, you need to showcase your talent to potential employers.

3. Create a Website , Vimeo, Youtube , or Blog
You are your best advocate and promoter. Make yourself the product and promote your talent to potential clients and employers.

4. Post Secondary Education - Internships
Internships are the connections you need to get a job in the media arts field. Try to obtain two types of internships during undergrad. First , look for a hands on internship that will allow you to be involved in productions by using the equipment. Public access stations or smaller production companies will give you the hands-on experience needed. Your second internship, go for the name recognition (ex. Celtics , NBC, ESPN), these companies will give you the opportunity to network and possibly offer you a job.

5. Consistency
Becoming a master of you craft requires constant practice on your own time; practice does not make perfect, practice makes permanent.

Today we remember #AmadouDiallo. He was a young Black man grabbing his wallet when racist NYPD cops shot him 41 times. He should be alive today. We thank his mom Kadiatou Diallo for continuing to fight to hold NYPD accountable for her son's murder & for us all.
