Today is #GoFishing Day and we are sharing this 1957 photo taken by Stanley Bauman from the Stanley A. Bauman Photograph Collection Page.

Where is your favorite place in Brockton to go fishing?

Today is # GoFishingDay. Stanley took thousands of fishing photos. Today's is from 1957.

First Fishermen of 1957: First fishermen of 1957 as today marked the opening of the new fishing season were Richard V. Albanese, 11, of Harvard street, and Kenneth F. Galligan, 11, of 8 Huntington avenue, both of whom were up bright and early to fish at Bigney's pond, Torrey street, but without anything like what fishermen usually call good luck; April 20, 1957

Hello, at our museum (Perinton Historical Society) in Fairport, NY we have some photos from Noyes Studio, of Brockton, circa late 1940s. I'm wondering if you can tell me anything about the photographer. Thanks!
The Old Bridgewater Historical Society sends its condolences to the family and friends and Jim Benson. He will be missed.
This was already written inside when found
Hi I am in the UK Southen on Sea Essex and 30 yrs ago when my daughter was renovating her first home hidden in the wall behind the plaster were smeo old papers and things from the 1890's I bought them home and put them in my loft. Having just emptied said loft I came across the items again and among them was a small writing pad with The Emerson shoe name on the front. Don't know if these were given away with the purchase of shoes and if you would like it for your museum
Wondering if anyone has any further info on this pic. It is the Walk-Over Shoe Company Band from about 1905 taken at a concert in Oak Bluffs, Martha's Vineyard. The 2nd tuba player, back row 2nd from left, is my great-grandfather Alfred Eastman, a vamper at the factory. His brother, Fred Eastman, also an employee there, is the 2nd clarinet player (seated, left). I believe they both worked for Geo. Keith at one point as well. I have the original picture. Alfred left for Maine in 1915 but Fred stayed in Brockton as a shoeworker til his death in 1974.
