Our “after” photo of the 19th century maiden who has lived in our Living Hall shows what professional marble cleaning and restoration can do. She looks beautiful and is glowing in her new place in the Reception Room.

We are sure she loved her morning outdoors getting cleaned! Of course she would, it’s a perfect view along the river!!

Thanks to Bill Langhorne of Milestone Marble Restoration for doing such wonderful work. Her finger is back in place and the bottom of the goblet was put back in its place.

The carving detail of artist P. Bazzanti, Florence is so incredible and glowed in the sunlight.

Phew, it’s been a busy week and it’s only Thursday! Everything has been in full swing and the new draperies are being delivered, furniture returned, one last Langhorne Carpet rug is being finished and we will officially be unpacking collections.

Our inspiration for the Living Hall and Upper Landing draperies comes from this image of Margaret R. Grundy posing having tea in the Grundy home. The ad is circa 1880. How perfect did Eros leroi do on these reproductions?? Amazing!!

CONGRATS! 2018 Places: Museum FINALISTS The Grundy Museum (Bristol)
I have a clock that Mr. Grundy gave to my father and his first wife for their wedding. There is a family story behind it. Next time I come back home, we can arrange a hand off to the museum and I will talk to my brother's to get the story straight.
