Zimmy's Memories: Pink Mosier tells an interesting story of his grandfather, Horace Mosier, and his good friend, “Zimmy” (of Zimmy’s Tavern.) It was about a botched newspaper ad that became a popular item for a long time.

Even though this Facebook post is not shareable (because this is a private group,) the link to the YouTube video is. Just copy & paste the link to the video and send to your friends!

We had a good crowd at last night's BIHS monthly meeting at the library to watch Chuck Feldman's stories of lighting the fireworks each year, and to share everyone's memories of past Bristol Homecoming festivals. This is the video we watched of Chuck and his son, Tom, talking about doing fireworks for the festival since 1971. Our monthly meetings are always held on the last Wednesday of each month at the Bristol Public Library at 6:00 pm. All are welcome!

We had a great monthly BIHS meeting last night! As part of our video series, "Bristol Memories," Ed Hackman recounted some of his memories of growing up in Bristol.

We are arranging for many others to share their memories in this way so that we can build a repository, or library, of memories to create a larger documentary that tells the story of Bristol.

It is our way of preserving small-town life through the memories of people who experienced it, and through the stories about those who came before them and had a great influence on our community.

Sometimes "seeing" is better than "reading," so here is a shortened video version of what Ed Hackman recently shared with us.
