is it possible to have a person to speak with
we're going to listen to excerpts of oral history interviews with elders of the North End from 1980, stories told in their own voices. We're hoping to do a series based on the chapters of the new book, "Stories, Streets And Saints: The North End Of Boston," so the first will be "Life In Italy," as told by two storytellers (Michelina Manfra and Frances Lauro) whose stories take place in the countrysides of Campania and Sicily at the turn of the century.
The North End Historical Society, Inc. is hosting a talk by author Stephen Puleo at NBSS tomorrow evening at 6pm to celebrate their 10th anniversary. Stephen is the author of six books including Dark Tide, The Boston Italians, A City So Grand, and he'll share his top 10 favorite things about the North End.
Tickets are $10 for NEHS members, $30 for the general public. More info here:

One of our favorite authors, Stephen Puleo, will be speaking just down the street at North Bennet Street School next week. Highly recommend hearing him and checking out his books! This looks to be a great event put on by End Historical Society, Inc.
