inary spectrum that exists in video, painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, performance, film, sculpture, and sound. It is our mission to further contemporary art by giving equal value to the mind and the hand, therefore not separating the mind from the body. NKGallery was established in 2010. Kathy Halamka and Natacha Sochat formed NKG as a venue for the very best contemporary art. On the surface NKGallery may appear to be the conventional contemporary gallery that most of us are familiar with. However, NKG is philosophically different from most galleries. Kathy Halamka and Natacha Sochat founded NKG as patrons of contemporary artists. They also want NKG to be a catalyst for change in the world of art. NKG wants to encourage transparency in art as part of the critical dialogue to counter the inconsistent and arbitrary decisions that occur daily in the world of art that surrounds us. We want artists, curators, museum directors, other gallery owners, critics, collectors....anyone and everyone involved in contemporary art to have an honest, clear dialogue that keeps artistic freedom alive and not under the thumb of any particular institution based on power. We were located in the vibrant SOWA (South Of Washington Street) art district of Boston. We closed after 3 years of a great experience with many artists that we were lucky to have met. NKG featured works that embodied the diversity, wonder and resonance that exists in art.
