Bondurant family and friends. You are invited to join the Bondurant Historical Society for our Wreaths Across America ceremony this Saturday, December 17, 2022, at 11:00 am, at the Bondurant Cemetery. This event is created to Remember and Honor our veterans through the laying of Remembrance wreaths on the graves of our country's fallen heroes and the act of saying the name of each and every veteran aloud.
We would love to have as many people as possible participate in this event. Please join us Saturday at 11 a.m. This national event will be happening in over 3,400 cemeteries, in all 50 states and at sea and abroad. Let's show our Veterans that we will never forget their sacrifices to make this country free.

There are just a couple days left to sponsor a wreath to remember and honor our Veterans in the Bondurant Cemetery. We would love to have a wreath for each Veteran, and we still have a few more to purchase for us to be able to remember and honor all of the grave sites. Veteran's Day is a great time to sponsor a wreath for our Wreaths Across American ceremony, December 17th, at 11:00 a.m., as we REMEMBER the fallen, HONOR those who serve, and TEACH our children the value of Freedom. The Bondurant Historical Society would like to informally request memories of Bondurant. We will be posting a starter question or statement every month to gather what you remember about the town. Whether you have lived in Bondurant your whole life, or are new to the community, we would love for you to join in with a response. Please feel free to add a picture, if you have permission from everyone in the picture. We just ask for everyone to be respectful and don't post anything that might embarrass another person. Let's have fun generating some great memories!
May Starter Question: What is one of your first memories of Bondurant?
I'll get us started--My husband and I came to town in 1991 and I remember the noon whistle! I loved hearing it and missed it when they got rid of it.

We would love to have you join us! The Bondurant Historical Society is now meeting every third Monday of the month from 6-7 p.m., at the Bondurant Library. We have some fun projects for the upcoming year and would like to include anyone interested in documenting and preserving the history of Bondurant, Iowa. Everyone is welcome-please join us!

Had a great "season kick off" meeting last night! Started planning for the fall, and discussed new project ideas.

The history of Bondurant is YOUR history! So don't be surprised if sometime soon you get the request, "Tell me about the time...."

Our next meeting is scheduled for Monday, September 20 at 6 pm at the Bondurant Community Library .
