TGIF - and a beautiful October weekend for Bluffton's 22nd annual Art and Seafood Festival. Come for some seafood - take home some great art. These puffy birds will be enjoying a "Shore Dinner" at La Petite Gallerie where many of the artists and partners will be on hand. Fresh Paint by Murray Sease is part of the festival at Booth #94 near the corner of Calhoun and Church St. Wally Palmer and Sanders Black will be in the garden playing music alongside their gorgeous sculptures. Mary Ellen Burrell and Jane Capraro and I will be staffing the gallery along with several of the gallery artists. There will be demos, music, food - fun! And it looks like fabulous fall weather. So come say hi, have some local seafood, listen to the music, take home some art- perfect!

TGIF - these "Big Fish. Little Fish" went swimming off to a new home this week. Maybe you'll have time for a little swimming this weekend, too. Whether you have an ocean, pool, lake, pond, river or spa - a nice cool dip could be just the thing on this hot, end-of-summer weekend. Stay away from lagoons, though. Around here, they say every lagoon has its own personal alligator! Be cool. Be safe. Be generous and kind.

TGIF - here's what's going on this weekend. The annual Halfway Home exhibit of everything TURTLES starts this week through July 31. This fun exhibit of original artworks by local artists is in partnership with the Sea Turtle Patrol of Hilton Head Island. They have nurtured over 400 nests this summer! I think that might be a record. Details of the exhibit are in my comment below. Be cool. Be quick. Make like a turtle and head for the sea.

TGIF - it's time to "Go To Your Happy Place." I don't know why I even turn on the TV. It does not usually make me happy. Heat, drought, rain, flooding, fires, smoke, weather, politics, gossip, war, mayhem! Grab yourself a beverage and a good book and go to your happy place, even if it's only in your imagination.
