Hello, my dad's family is from the Belzoni area, he was born in Midnight. They are all gone now and my cousins and I were curious about their old homestead (this would have been in the 1920's to 40's). The only address we can find is Route 3, Box 109, Belzoni. Would anyone happen to know what that street/ road is called now?
TIA

I hope everyone is enjoying the new Belzoni Heart of the Delta Sign. I believe it is so beautiful night and day and provides a nice "Welcome" to our home town. On behalf of the Heart of the Delta Project Team, we thank everyone for your contributions toward the sign. We are closing the project soon with plans for a monument that will recognize contributors with a space for dedications and memorials. I am including a sketch of what the monument will look like. If you would like to donate and include your name or your family's name on the monument, please let someone on the project team know very soon: Lee Ann Mohamed Moore, Jon Turner, Doug Turner, Mark Bellipanni, or me.
Here is a song honoring Silver City's Jack Reed and his short but memorable time with the NY Yankees. I have been trying to find a way to get in touch with with Mr Reed as tomorrow is the anniversary of his Yankees heroics, but have not been able to get in touch. I hope those in Belzoni might enjoy this "feel good" song honoring Mr. Reed.

while researching family history I was able to find this photo of thew Shelton Car Dealership in Belzoni. I was wondering if it was the Ford Dealership/Ford Garage and any other tidbit of information anyone might know.
Can anyone help me identify this photo? On the back:
Edna Herron house - Belzoni - early 1900s. Then on another section: Edna Herring house - Belzoni. Thank you for any info. I found the photo in some that belonged to my grandmother who lived in Belzoni.
My grandfather, Billie Wade, and aunts and an uncle lived in Belzoni when I was growing up. We would visit from Detroit every year in August, sometimes at Easter. My Aunt Sadie and her family lived on Church St. I have so many fond memories of those visits to Belzoni and to the Delta. I have continued to visit into adulthood and will continue to do so though my last relative moved away last year. Heart of the Delta!
Please forgive me if this is a common picture or if I've posted previously. Note on reverse says "1927 Belzoni Flood-Courthouse. I assume it was taken from the courthouse roof.
