Easter Egg Enrichment

The Center’s resident animals are excited for Easter! Our wildlife team provided Easter egg enrichment this week as a tasty treat 🐰

It’s almost Easter! 🐰

Our wildlife team is here to share the important reminder that rabbits, chicks and ducklings are not low-maintenance pets. These animals can live for many years and require proper care and attention, like any dog or cat.

Unfortunately, many people purchase baby animals as Easter gifts then abandon them once the holiday fun is over. Always do your research before purchasing a pet and know that you are providing them with a forever home 🐣

Are there any Bald Eagle cameras set up in Cleveland or Ohio in general? It is so amazing to watch them especially when they lay eggs and the hatching of the babies.
Will you be having "Birds of Lake Erie Day" again this year?
I can’t reach anyone there but wanted you to know that we are unable to attend this evening. We had 3 tickets and would love to see someone else use them if they want to go.
What's the chances of someone having four tickets for tonight they would be interested in selling
Will you be holding another Intro to beekeeping program? I see Sunday 1/19/20 is already sold out 😭. My husband and I was looking forward to attending.

I remember attending day camp at the Lake Erie Nature and Science Center around 1961. I was about 5! I remember we all had Indian names for the week. Mine was Squanto. I remember it was even written on the butterfly net I was given. I remember the animal exhibits, especially the turtles. I think my picture was taken for a local newspaper. I was holding a dove named Eric and I remember being afraid to hold him. It was a memorable week, though somewhat bittersweet. We brought our own pets the last day. It was then that one of the center's experts told us our parakeet looked sickly. We took him to the vet but he soon died. Overall though, a great experience! I was just thinking about that week today, 57 years later. Glad to see the center is doing well!
Hello... I live in Lorain Co. and found a painted turtle in the turning lane on Pearl Ave. Do I release near where I found him or should I take him to a safer place, like Carlisle Reservation Duck Pond... please advise
