Welcome to the E.O. Austin Home/Historical Society founded in 2001, and opened to the public on September 25, 2005. The E.O. Austin Home is a museum dedicated to the history of Austin and the surrounding areas.
You can learn more about the history of; The 1911 Austin flood, health care, logging and farming, our military, and many other areas. Our two story museum houses over 1,700 square feet and is comprised of thousands of artifacts. Each one with a different story and history all their own. Please take some time to view our website and photo gallery, but understand that the best way to learn about the E.O. Austin Home is to visit the museum and take a tour.
All of us at the Historical Society want to thank everyone who helped make our 15th Dinner Auction such a success. This has been a major fundraiser for our organization and we truly appreciate the hard work from our board of directors, historical society members, community members, local businesses, schools, and other organizations, and especially all our dedicated volunteers! You are all so important to the future of the museum and Austin's legacy.
Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!!
It's that time again...

We are so thankful for this generous gift. It speaks volumes to the character of Mr. Nuschke. His generosity has helped ensure that our museum will be operating for generations to come.
The son of an Austin Dam Flood survivor has made it his dying wish to help the community where he lived his early life and spent many summers as an adult.
After some technical difficulties, our website has been updated. Our contact information is all up to date and where it should be!
We are so thankful for all the generous donations on our behalf to the CFTT that helped get us to this point. This is the first step toward ensuring our organization's future and preserving the rich history of this community.
