Signal Corps Regimental Association
As June nears its end, the Signal and Cyber Museum Society (SCMS) takes a moment to reflect on two profound anniversaries that shape our understanding of military history and technological advancement.
This month, we honor the 250th Birthday of the United States Army, established on June 14, 1775. For two and a half centuries, the Army has been the bedrock of our nation's defense, adapting to ever-evolving threats and safeguarding our freedoms. Its story is one of enduring sacrifice, bravery, and unwavering commitment.
Following closely, on June 21st, we recognized the 165th Birthday of the U.S. Army Signal Corps. From its inception, the Signal Corps has been the nervous system of the Army, pioneering communication technologies that have dramatically influenced the course of warfare. Their innovations, from semaphore to cyberspace, have consistently given our forces a critical edge.
The SCMS is dedicated to preserving and sharing these vital histories. The synergy between the broader Army mission and the specialized expertise of the Signal Corps underscores the importance of connectivity and information in modern warfare.
We extend our deepest gratitude to all who have served, past and present, in both the U.S. Army and the Signal Corps. Your contributions resonate through history.
