In early November 1926, Ty Cobb suddenly retired from baseball. It was mildly surprising but certainly not a complete shock; Cobb had been player-manager for the Detroit Tigers, who had finished a disappointing sixth in the American League. Cobb played in only 79 games (fewest since he was 18 years....

Great book but I have some questions. It seems none of the other players from the infamous game of Sept 25, 1919 were brought in by Landis. The substitute shortstop made 2 errors so that would raise some questions. I find it hard to believe people that know baseball say the box score didn't show anything. It did to me right away. Speaker let Myers pitch the whole game despite giving up 9 runs and 18 hits. Hard to tell how may pitches but he faced 38 batters. 0 strikeouts. why wasn't Myers interviewed? The other issue to me was Wood saying he bet on Cleveland. If that's the case how did he win any money? Did I miss something?
Hey, Ian this looks great, where can I get a couple copies?
