JLC Paintings by Brittany

JLC Paintings by Brittany Welcome to my art page! I hope you enjoy my paintings! Requests are welcome, reasonable pricing, and you can pick canvas size, colors, etc.

My name is Brittany and I started painting with acrylic paints as a fun thing to do with my artsy best friend in 2021. I realized how fun it was but was also frustrating for my usual type A personality but kept powering through and love doing it! I started out learning from some AMAZING artists that offer online tutorials. I still learn from them but have branched out to create my own unique piece

s. Landscapes are what I really enjoy painting! I am still expanding my knowledge and skills but scenery and decor is my passion! If you have a request or a specific photo you would like me to recreate, send me a message! My pricing is very reasonable and you can customize size and colors.

Newest painting! This is a photo recreation from a trip my parents went on to see Schoodic Point in Winter Harbor, Maine.

The photo of my painting doesn't do the colors justice as I'm sure their photo from the actual location didn't either!

Their trip photo in comments.

Yesterday I shared a painting I did for a good friend/business colleague back during the holidays.

Before my skills started developing, I would always wonder how an artist achieved certain things that made things POP or make them look real and not all just sitting next to each other in a line on a canvas.

Honestly, it comes down a lot to layering, shadows, and highlights! Layering to make something look like it's in the background when it's painted right next to something else. Lightening or darkening the paint color just a teeny tiny bit to have the 3D effect because of an imaginary light shining on one side. Something so simple helps make Santa's coat look bunched or wrinkled in certain spots like he's actually wearing it! Even Santa himself had a bunch of layers before looking like he should!

Sorry for rambling! Just in case there is an artist looking at my page that's just getting started, I wanted to show that every painting has an awkward stage (or 3) before it's layers and colors come together just how you need them to 😊.

I know I know...it's not Christmas anymore. I was looking at previous paintings for some motivation to get back to work on one I'm trying to finish and I came across this one! I just really love how this one turned out.

AI photo vs. my painted version 😊.

I have a few paintings added to my Etsy shop again!

Here is my newest piece I finished yesterday and just added! Lillies are my absolute favorite and this one was based on the ones I have in my front yard 😊.

Thank you to everyone that helped me find a name for this beautiful painting!

There were so many good suggestions and was hard to pick!

I chose Brett Walker's "Cotton Candy Skies, Good Nights". I knew it was the one as soon as I read it!

Here it is in my Etsy shop 😊.

This Acrylic Paintings item is sold by JLCpaintings. Ships from Villa Rica, GA. Listed on Jan 15, 2026

Just finished a painting but can't decide a name for it so I can list it in my Etsy shop. I have some ideas but they aren't clicking.

Help me name it!

Y'all, I stepped way out of my nice cushy canvas comfort zone to personalize a Christmas gift from my husband, me, and the kids to my Mother and Father in law.

My Mother started painting nutcrackers recently (definitely know where my talent comes from) and I thought "Hey, maybe I'll try that" because I had the perfect ones to do. It was fun, and I like how they turned out, but I think I'll stick to my trusty canvases and leave that hard work to her! 😉

The photo I used is of my Mother and Father in Law from his retirement 21 years in the Army.

I'm ready for my next commissioned painting! Do you have a beautiful scenic photo from a vacation that you'd love to have an actual painting of and not just a print? Let me know and let's talk about the details!
