Reverse thumb print amberina pitcher with braided handle. I believe, this was made by the New England Glass Company, Ca. late 19c. The handle is everything on this pitcher. It must have taken a very skilled artisan to make this and apply this to the pitcher. The bottom of the handle, where it attaches to the pitcher, has two glass decorative prunts. The pitcher is 7 1/2" tall to the top of the handle and 7 1/4" tall to the top rim. The square top is 3 1/2 x 3 1/2 square. The top of the pitcher is fire polished smooth. The bottom has a polished pontil. There is some minor grit in the glass, but most of Victorian glass has a little. There is nice gradation of color from ruby to the amber. There are also some very small air bubbles, none are broken, and this is common, too. There is no damage to the pitcher.

This book is in like-new condition, except for some foxing on the first couple of pages and last couple of pages. The book binding is black with gold designs both front and back covers, and heavily decorated on the spine. The book measures 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" x 1 1/2". In the back of the book there is a pull-out map of Gallia in the time of Caesar. Also, this might be a FIRST EDITION, because there is nothing to indicate otherwise in the book. In keeping with the book title is a hidden fore-edge painting that was done, I was told by the previous owner, in the late 19c. It is beautifully colored, unbelieveable detail. It shows on the left-hand side a front view of Caesar and the rest of the edge are Roman warriors, in full uniform, with weapons on foot, being led by one Roman warrior on horse charging across a body of water. They are going to battle.

ANY TIME YOU CAN FIND AN EDGE IN KEEPING WITH THE BOOK TITLE IT IS WORTH MUCH MORE.

Victorian Overshot Crackle 11 Piece Punch Bowl Set. Circa 1870-87
Victorian overshot -crackle punch bowl set. This is one-of-a-kind. This is a set that was made from 1870 - 1887. Most likely European in origin. It is all in tact. No damage, except for some minor gold lost on the rims, edges. This is overshot crackle glass.

Crackle Glass was made by dipping a gob of hot glass into room temperature water, crackling the glass, and then reheating it to seal the cracks.

Overshot glass was made by rolling a partially or fully inflated gob of hot glass on finely ground shards of glass that had been placed on a steel plate called a marver. The gob was then lightly reheated to remove the sharp edges of the ground glass.

There are eight glasses, each one is 5" tall. The large tray is 15 1/2" across and is 1 1/2" high. The ladle, which, I don't know if it is original to the set, it is 11 1/2". Only the ladle portion is overshot-crackle. The punch bowl itself is two pieces. The entire height is 15" and has an opening of 5" and is 7 1/2" at its widest. There is an opening so the ladle can be put into the bowl and the lid can go over the bowl with the ladle handle sticking out. You are not going to find another set like this anywhere.

The entire 11 piece set is very heavy because quality lead glass was used in the making. Great care in packing will be taken & will be shipped in two different boxes, and double boxing for the main bowl.

Absolutely a beautiful and outstanding overshot cranberry pitcher. This is true cranberry. Probably used gold oxide to get this color. This pitcher was made by the Boston Sandwich Company in Massachusetts. Overshot was made by this company from 1870 - 1887. Most overshot pieces were also crackled glass, but this pitcher is not crackled. Look at the extraordinary handle. This handle was not done by the same person who made the vase. This was a special skill. The pitcher is 10 1/2" tall. The bottom has a large polished pontil. The glass bottom, which incorporates the polished pontil is 3" across and sits firmly on a flat surface. The top is a tri-folded top. The bulbous body is 5 1/2" wide and the handle is about 7". There is no damage, no heat checks to the handle. The top rim is fire polished smooth. Outstanding condition and displays beautifully.

Any interest in this pieice, please let me know.

Here is an item that does not come up too often, a crackle glass captain's decanter by Blenko. The decanter Model 6629, Ca. 1966, was made to be very wide at the base so when on a ship, and the ship was rocking back and forth, the decanter would not tip over, and that is why it is called a "Captain's Decanter". This decanter is all hand blown and is 13 tall to the top of the original stopper and 8" wide at the bottom. It has a snap off pontil. No damage.

Signed Austrian Bronze Lamp base Ca. 1900 that stands from top to bottom 21" tall. The base is 6" x 5" and almost 1" high. The lamp base is in perfect condition. Very intricate bronze work on the entire lamp base. It has the original bulb inserter holder. You can see by the screw inside where the bulb goes that it is an old bulb holder. It also has the original on off switch which is intricately carved. The wiring I cannot say if it was replaced or not, but looking at the cord, it does not look contemporary.
The base is signed "Austria" to the left of where the electric cord comes out of the base. It sits firmly and solidly on a flat surface. Any further photos needed, please request them.

Now, for the shade. The shade is in perfect condition. It fits firmly into the shade holder. I am not an expert on Loetz glass. So, all I could say, be your own judge on this. It is signed, as you can see in the photo "Loetz Austria".

I see on Ebay many of the Bronze bases, not as intricate as this one, they are asking extremely high prices for. I believe, my asking price is reasonable.

Outstanding and very Rare Rainbow Glass Company Pinched Decanter with a glass or shot glass stopper. It is pinched in at two sides. Very fine crackle. All hand blown. Measures 10 1/2" to the top rim of the stopper. The stopper glass itself is 2" tall and almost 3" wide. Holds a very large amount of liquid, more than a shot glass. The decanter is 5" wide and 4" deep. The color is amethyst. Very sought after color, especially the deep, rich amethyst that this is. It is in perfect condition.

This is from the early 1960's and it is Rainbow Glass Company's model 9060.

Please note that the photos of the glass shows one small bubble. It is embedded in the glass. It is not uncommon for blown glass to have bubbles. This is the only one, and the bubble is in tact. Not busted, just an air bubble, the size of an oblong pea.

Outstanding monumental Mt. Washington Burmese lily vase. This vase is so perfect in quality, you could call it "museum quality". It is breathtaking when viewing it. From the bottom to the top it is just shy of 16 1/2" tall. The flower-looking top is 6" across and the bottom pedestal is 5 1/2" across and sits firmly on a flat surface. This vase reacts to black light.
