Thank you for a pleasant visit to the Charles Carroll House this past weekend to celebrate Maryland Day. Always a pleasure to see Colleen and the friends of the CCHofA!
Hi! I am a direct descendant of Charles Carroll the Settler 1661-1720. His son Daniel Carroll of Duddington 1707-1734 was my 5th great grandfather.Daniel and his wife Ann Rozier once owned the land that became the Federal City in Washington DC. Charles Carroll of Carrollton was my 1st cousin 4 times removed( 4 generations back).
Thank you so much for a beautiful evening!
At Blanchardstown library in Dublin, Ireland, we currently have a display on Charles Carroll of Carrollton, Maryland. Charles Carroll, whose grandfather hailed from County Offaly was the only Catholic signer of the Declaration of Independence. He and his family would go on to play a major role in the political and economic life of the State of Maryland.
