Anna Arts Center 501(c)3 supports artists in Southernmost Illinois, including, but not limited to; Singers, Musicians, Dancers, Painters, Comedians, Poets, Playwrites, and Authors.

The Anna Arts Center sponsors, and hosts many special events throughout the year, Including our annual Shawnee Hills Spring Arts Festival, and Holiday Bazaar. Our monthly events include Gospel Music Night (3rd Friday) and Your Stage Dinner Event and Show (4th Friday). Each year, we put on a number of other events, including Civil War Events, Poetry Workshops, Geneology Seminars, and Full-Blown Musical Productions (3 per year). Also, we hire Local and Regional Performers for shows throughout the season, including- Steve Hornbeak, Brian D. Caraker, BLEND, Blackwood Brothers, Backdraft, and many more! Steve Falcone’s two-man play about General Lee’s surrender to General Grant on April 9, 1865 at The Appomattox Courthouse in Virginia to end the Civil War.
Bruce Welker as Confederate, General Robert E. Lee; and Steve Falcone as Union General, Ulysses S. Grant. James Busch will assume the role of Corporal Porter. The older, wiser generals will perform a staged reading.

 Welcome to our tribute to the enduring female figures whose achievements have, in one way or another, advanced women’s struggles for equality and the right to vote in 1920.
 A one act play titled AQUITAINE which entails the astounding life of Eleanor of Aquitaine, born the Duchess of Aquitaine into a noble French family. Bequeathed a massive amount of land she battled her entire life to maintain ownership. Inheriting these lands from her father, The Duke of Aquitaine, who died when Eleanor was 15, made her by far the most eligible young woman in Europe and began a life for Eleanor as a bargaining chip in arranged marriages.
 Followed by monologues from strong, brave women of the past: EVE - pre-history, MARY - B.C., BATHSHEBA - BIBLE, Old Testament, ST. JOAN OF ARC - burned at stake 1431 A.D., CLEOPATRA - Queen of the Nile, Last Ruler of Ptolemy Empire 30 B.C., ELIZABETH CADY STANTON - Seneca Fall Address, 1848, died 1902, HARRIET TUBMAN - Underground Railroad - died 1913, ISADORA DUNCAN - died 1927, MADAME MARIE CURIE - Pulitzer Prize for Chemistry & Physics, found use of radium, died 1934, AMELIA EARHART - First female aviator to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean, declared dead in absentia January 5, 1939, GWENDOLN BROOKS - 1917-2000, and ROSA PARKS - Montgomery Bus Sit-Down, 1955, 1913-2005
