Louisiana Prison Museum and Cultural Center

The museum was proud to come along side other departments at Louisiana State Penitentiary (Angola) to support the Krewe of P.A.W.S. (Prisoners Assisting Warrior Services) parade. The Krewe of PAWS rolled through our treatment center lifting the spirits of inmates battling various medical conditions. PAWS is a rehabilitation initiative where inmates train rescue dogs to become service animals for veterans with PTSD. This is just one of many programs at Angola that focus on rehabilitation and giving back to the community. Stop by the museum and visit our "Angola Gives Back" exhibit to learn more!

We had a little visitor stop by the front porch of the museum. He's no longer here, but we have a cool wildlife exhibit with a few of his friends. Come by and check it out! We are open M-F, and Sundays during the month of October.

Fall has arrived at the Louisiana Prison Museum. When will you make an appearance? We are open M-F, 8-4:30 and every Sunday in October for rodeo season. We hope to see you soon!
