Another small video of the fields late at night. There are so many fireflys dancing on the night breeze, that it puts you in a trance. With this, it makes you stop to enjoy the beauty of the courtship unfold and the quiet around you...(Until you hear the goat in the background crying for no reason at all.)

Look at what we stumbled upon in the barnyard! Came dashing out of the pasture and we almost ran over these little fellas. We were just as surprised as the flock of chickens pecking at the ground. So, we now have four new baby chicks running around the farm!

9 clever ways plastic bottles can improve your garden

Here are some fun ways to reuse many of plastics that people just throw-away. We have reused many different plastic bottles for many other purposes. We took a cat food container and are using it for clothespins to be stored in. You can also take a bleach jug an hang it on the clothesline and put clothespins in it with a wire hook to hang. Took a 64oz juice bottle and cut the bottom off and left the cap on. Made that into a grain scoop. No need to buy a scoop when you already have one! All those ice cream pails that are just tossed. Well, we use ours for berry collecting or for carrying vegetables in. We also use them for leftovers, watering bowls, feed bowls and many other things that would require a bucket for storage! The possibilities are endless! Tell us, what you do with some of your plastics?

Even better than recycling, keep plastic bottles and use them to help plants grow.

Check out these unique ways to make watering plants easier

Has anyone else done these tricks? Tells us what you have done and how it went? We have done #3 - 6. They are the easiest to do and take no time at all. The paper and wood malch help with keeping the soil moist but also by keeping the weeds down. Yes, you still have to weed but not as frequent. The paper will break down over time but will add added compost to the soil.

Do you ever struggle with keeping plants watered? These handy tips can help if you have the tendency to be a little forgetful when it comes to caring for plants.

Just got a truck load of good, dry hay in! Thank you Bill Howard, DVM and Tammy Bone! Don't worry. The truck was parked in the barn right away last night, before more rain came our way. The hay stayed dry. Now, time to unload and get some shearing done for the day!
