Artists Republic Gallery The Story Continues.... It started as a seed. It is our belief that art creates community. Then something amazing happened. Coast Hwy. So throw off the bowlines.

As humans we need to be shaken up, constantly in motion, exposed to change. Visual arts, music, and language are as necessary to our bodies as air and water. To live without art is like living on a dry desert plain… or being stuck forever in a planned community mini-mall. Artists Republic Gallery opened it’s doors as A.R.4.T. – Artists Republic 4 Tomorrow – in Laguna Beach on May 30th, 2010. The i

dea was simple – to provide a space for emerging contemporary artists. It was an experiment… to see if Laguna Beach and Orange County would embrace a different style of art. Each year the gallery grew a little bit more, welcoming new artists and friends. In August 2013, the gallery moved to a larger location in the HIP District of Laguna Beach at 1775 S. and in 2014 Vans partnered with the gallery to help grow the reach of awareness. In 2015, to celebrate 5 years of being in Laguna Beach we shortened our name to Artists Republic in preparation for new adventures in the next five years to come… and in 2017 we moved to a much larger location in the Anaheim GardenWalk and we are really excited to see what tomorrow brings. Artists Republic Gallery works with artists who make amazing works in the studio and are also leaders in life – travelers, curators, musicians, skateboarders, surfers, teachers, builders. These people are the vanguards of our day, shaping the way we see and feel the world. We stand in support of them, offering not just original art works, photographs and prints …. but an open invitation to join in the fun.

Our Story

It started as a seed.

Artists Republic 4 Tomorrow – AR4T – opened it’s doors in Laguna Beach May 30th, 2010. The idea was simple: to provide a space for emerging contemporary artists amidst a land of plein air landscapes, seascapes and still life.

But simple ideas take root, and soon a spark becomes a flame. It is our belief that art creates community. As humans we need to be shaken up, constantly in motion, exposed to change. Visual arts, music, and language are as necessary to our bodies as air and water. To live without art is like living on a dry desert plain… or being stuck forever in a planned community mini-mall.

In February of 2017 we moved from Laguna Beach to the Anaheim GardenWalk – from a small space to an art playground of roughly 3000 square feet which included a large exhibition space, 5 mini galleries, retail area, and room for live music, art demonstrations, video projection, and more. Over the course of a year, the team at Artists Republic brought the community together through Monster Draw, Pin & Patch events, music shows, and by creating the largest grouping of public art murals in one space in Orange County. Curated by AR, the mural project features 17 large scale murals on the upper mezzanine of the center, painted by a selection of influential artists from Orange County. This project has lead the Anaheim GardenWalk to be voted best place for Public Art by both Orange Coast Magazine and The OC Weekly. As we move forward, away from The GardenWalk – we are excited to reveal bigger projects in the works and continue our mission of supporting art in our community.
