Yellow Sister, Blue Sister
Please enjoy this short clip from our experimental film project, "Yellow Sister, Blue Sister". It was such a fun project to work on and taught us so much about different forms of storytelling.
Bob Baker Marionette Theater
The Bob Baker Marionette Theater is an extraordinarily special place and their current show “Something to Crow About”, features our favorite bullfrogs. These bullfrogs performed for our “Sidecar Puppetry Revue” last March as our opening act and we wanted to share it with you all one more time.
If you haven’t heard of Bob Baker before, here is a little history for you. In 1963, Bob Baker and partner Alton Wood transformed a run-down scenic shop near downtown Los Angeles into a family entertainment institution: Bob Baker Marionette Theater. Named an official Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument in 2009, the Theater has served over one million children with original shows ranging from Tchaikovsky’s “The Nutcracker” to a musical journey through the history of Los Angeles.
After Bob’s passing in 2014 at the age of 90, the puppeteers and staff had to transition to being the stewards of both the past and the future of Bob’s beloved Theater. The Bob Baker moved from the historic home to a new theater in Highland Park and the past decade there has been spent doing everything possible to preserve this essential part of the history of puppetry.
Go visit them to see these dancing bullfrogs in action, but in the meantime enjoy the video!

The Dream Table
Get ready to enter a mysterious world and explore “Strange Secrets of Starlight Park” in our upcoming exhibit created in collaboration with the Muzeo Museum and the Anaheim Halloween parade. Dates have shifted for the show and now you can expect to see this abandoned amusement park in the summer of 2023…it will be out of this world!
The film clip you see here (by Leonard Masino with sound by Geoff Mitchell) is a preview of a mixed media installation being created for the exhibit.
More to come soon!
Ghost Stories & Fairy Tales
This video clip is a look back at the Spring of 2019 when we brought some of our favorites in the collection on the road to exhibit in Tucson, Arizona at The Mini Time Machine Museum of Miniatures for our “Ghost Stories & Fairy Tales : Make Believe in Miniature” show. Their museum is a wonderful quirky place, if you are in the area be sure to visit!
Merry Christmas! (2021)

Dickens’ Christmas Stories
We’d like to thank everyone who came out to our “Dickens’ Christmas Stories” event last Sunday that took place at Muzeo in the heart of Anaheim! We were transported back in time and met Septimus Hicks who shared with us how his creator, Charles Dickens, re-invented Christmas. We sipped hot chocolate with a trio of elves and learned about the spirit of season! Some even took home a miniature book ornament of “A Christmas Carol” to hang on their own tree!
If you were unable to be attend in person, the livestream is still available to watch. Pop some corn, grab a hot beverage and tune in at the link below:

Headless Horseman's Hallows Eve
Since 1924, Anaheim has been hosting what is known as the largest Halloween celebration west of the Mississippi; and we were so proud to help capture the spirit of the season this year with our Headless Horseman’s Hallows’ Eve event. Enjoy this video created by City of Anaheim- which highlights the celebration around the city, including our contribution!
“Strange Secrets of Starlight Park”
We’re so excited to announce that as part of our continued partnership with the Muzeo Museum and Cultural Center in Anaheim, we will be opening an exhibition called “Strange Secrets of Starlight Park” in their main gallery next July (2022). Find the exhibit description below and watch the video to learn more!
“In summer of 2022, an enchanted forest will descend upon Muzeo. A mystical place…where a mysterious abandoned amusement park awaits discovery …
Including the artistry of the Anaheim Halloween Parade, together with artists from the Museum of Make Believe … with majestic parade sets and floats, miniature diorama story scenes, paintings and puppets, installation, sculpture and creative costumes, this will be a new kind of exhibition in Anaheim.
The show is set within an original story … including atmospheric soundtracks and regular live events, it will be a summer of entertainment for Anaheim!”
“Strange Secrets of Starlight Park” will be presented by the Muzeo Museum and Cultural Center together with the Anaheim Halloween Parade and the Museum of Make Believe.
"Atomic Disintegrator"
• “Coveted Treasure” … the atomic disintegrator! This fun and nostalgic sculpture by Kelsey Irvin is full of childhood wonder & whimsy.
It’s a delightful reminder of hot summer days spent running through sprinklers and playing with water pistols in the backyard.
