Today we share with you this charming mixed media and collage piece by artist, Kelsey Irvin, titled “A Love Like This.” Kelsey has a truly magical way of manipulating vintage ephemera, painting and drawing into her stories.

“Ghost Stories & Fairy Tales” at Muzeo/Anaheim

In 2018, the City of Anaheim documented our second installation of the exhibit “Ghost Stories & Fairy Tales” which happened at the Muzeo. Lauren Gold captured the spirit of the show and we thought it would be fun to share it with you all. This show was truly special as it led us on the journey of starting the Museum of Make Believe!

Music is such an important part of the storytelling process in our shows. We’d like to share with you a short clip from one of our original show soundtracks, “Ghost Stories & Fairy Tales”. We hope you enjoy it! And if you’d like to hear the entire recording this clip is taken from, please visit the link below:

Once upon a time, long before Disney and other animation giants, Lotte Reiniger ignited the world of film with shadows, light and a pair of magical scissors. Her own fairytale

We are thrilled to have our friends at Sacred Junk Bar in Anaheim demonstrate how to make the perfect sidecar cocktail at our “Sidecar Puppetry R***e” (Virtual Event) on Sunday, March 21st at 5:00pm PST (Make sure to RSVP below)!

We have created somewhat of a tradition with our virtual events of offering a unique cocktail and we couldn’t pass up this great opportunity to show off the sidecar. The exact origin of the sidecar is unclear, but it is thought to have been invented around the end of World War I in either London or Paris. The recipe was simplified into an assortment of ingredients over time and that is where Sacred Junk Bar comes in … to show us how to create the perfect sidecar cocktail!

We love getting to work with our neighbors in Anaheim and Sacred Junk Bar has a mission that is close to our hearts, to create a sanctuary in the city … a place to relax and let your imagination run free! Sacred Junk Bar (which has the same owners as Healthy Junk at Good Food on Center Street) wants to make sure all of their guests feed their souls and their bodies at the same time … this is why they specialize in healthy cocktails made with all-natural ingredients including fresh squeezed juices. They also offer an amazing all vegan menu … try their pizzas and we promise you won’t be disappointed. Relax in their beautiful outdoor setting right in the Anaheim Packing District. The Anaheim Packing House has quite a history in its own right … built in a Spanish Colonial Revival style in 1919 as the home of Sunkist Citrus. In 2014, the 40,000 square foot space was transformed into a food hall of epic proportions!

Just RSVP below and we will reserve your place in our 100-seat virtual event theater! We look forward to raising a glass with you!

Cherry is a very special monster…she hails from New York City, her favorite color is, no surprise, red and she is a very talented singer (or at least she thinks she is…you might too after having a few sidecars to drink). She thinks a terrible decision was made to not have her host the show and she has plenty to say about it!

She can’t wait to meet you!

We have something really unique in store for you, a beautiful shadow puppetry opera titled “Hanjo.” This award-winning short film created by Project Blank and TwistedHeart Puppetworks, tells a Japanese love story as told by a crane and a fox. The inspiration is Japanese “yōkai” ... supernatural spirits that transcend form. The orchestra music is created by Brendan Nguyen and is produced entirely on the piano using unusual techniques like a rosin coated fishing line to mimic a violin.

You really won’t want to miss this stunning and stirring piece. Please RSVP for the event at the link below and we will reserve a seat for you in our virtual theater!
