Process Art House

Process Art House Process Art House is open by appointment only. Appts may be made between 9am and 9pm Tuesday - Saturday by calling 806.731.1481.

Process Art House, LLC. is a collaborative of talented working artists, designers, technology wizards, and teachers who believe in the power of the creative process. PAH offers a variety of services to creative people, business owners, and all people who love the arts. The Gallery is a locally owned business located in downtown Amarillo, Texas. We are always accepting submissions from artists. We rotate our shows every 4-6 weeks. PAH was founded by Jacob Breeden. Jacob is a working artist in Amarillo. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Sculpture from the University of North Texas. He has worked as a commercial graphic designer for various firms, as the Director of Education at the Amarillo Museum of Art, as the Membership Director of High Plains Public Radio, and for science museums, art museums, and galleries across the country. He is an experienced media producer and animator and is certified to teach visual arts in the state of Texas (though the state is not hiring). He has experience writing grants, developing fundable projects, and his wife and kids seem to like him. His artistic work can be found at www.jbreeden.com. But at its core, Process Art House is all about you. While other galleries and design houses tell you what they plan to do with your image, while other teachers try to force you into their molds, while other coaches try to cloud your vision with ephemeral nonsense - we work with you to develop a comprehensive vision of how your creativity can benefit you financially, mentally, and emotionally for the rest of your life. And then we help you get there. Find out more by emailing us at [email protected] or calling 806.681.4337. Thank you! Process Art House

Anders Zorn: "... one of the most acclaimed painters of his era. While his early works were often brilliant, luminous watercolors, by 1887 he had switched firmly to oils ... also famous for his nude paintings and realistic depictions of water.
It was primarily his skill as a portrait painter that gained Zorn international acclaim based principally upon his incisive ability to depict the individual character of his model. His subjects included three American Presidents, one of whom was Grover Cleveland in 1899."

'Japan’s most influential avant-garde collective of the postwar era. Founded by the visionary artist Yoshihara Jirō in 1954, the Gutai group was legendary in its own time. Its young members explored new art forms combining performance, painting, and interactive environments, and realized an “international common ground” of experimental art through the worldwide reach of their exhibition and publication activities. Against the backdrop of wartime totalitarianism, Gutai forged an ethics of creative freedom, breaking through myriad boundaries to create some of the most exuberant works and events in the history of Japanese and international avant-garde art.' Having “depression and anxiety” branded on my medical file and acquiring a sick certificate came as a shock. I decided to leave the PhD, but things did not immediately get better. I was convinced that I had ruined my career, and my life, and that nothing would ever be the same again. I felt that everything was pointless and daydreamed about getting a terminal illness. I didn’t want to die, but it no longer seemed like such a threatening possibility, and the option to opt out was appealing.

"... a fusion of his personal vision and the Yoruba belief that children who die shortly after birth are reborn in the same family, with the same spirit sent from the other world: the abiku. In his family, Prince was the only survivor of seven sets of twins—hence the name he gave himself, though born as Taiwo Olaniyi Oyewale—and consequently he himself was the abiku child, freed from the cycle of reincarnation, but carrying more of the spirit world with him in life. According to Prince, he was spared because his mother prayed to the goddess Oshun, who is often symbolized in Prince’s paintings by fish, such as those that dance at the bottom of the frame." (© Material Culture)

' “Twins was the great modernist of the Yoruba tradition,” said Henry Glassie, an emeritus folklore professor at Indiana University and the author of “Prince Twins Seven-Seven: His Art, His Life in Nigeria, His Exile in America” (2010). “He turned back to tradition, just as Kandinsky or Klee did, but in his context drew on Yoruban sources to figure out an escape from tradition into modernity.” ' (William Grimes, © The New York Times Company)

"Franz Marc was a pioneer in the birth of abstract art at the beginning of the twentieth-century. The Blaue Reiter group [1911-1914] put forth a new program for art based on exuberant color and on profoundly felt emotional and spiritual states. It was Marc's particular contribution to introduce paradisiacal imagery that had as its dramatis personae a collection of animals ... After Kandinsky, [Franz Marc was] the great figure of the Expressionist group "The Blue Rider" and one of the most important expressionist painters ever. He died at the height of his artistic powers ...” (© Nicolas Pioch)

Happy Friday everyone!!

PAH would love to welcome two new clients this week to our Art/Design/Build family!

Beginning this week we will be providing a custom series of photographic works on aluminum, featuring the Panhandle landscape photography of Jim Livingston, to our new friends over at Amarillo Urology Associates. They join in with several other smart companies in town utilizing our Art Leasing Program. We can't wait to show you just how much difference art on the walls can make!

Our next new client is the first to take full advantage of our new Spatial Design Service. A big warm welcome to Dean Boyd and Heidi Boyd! They have brought PAH in to manage the Spatial Design of their soon to be renovated Law Offices in Amarillo. We are incredibly excited to take on this project!

Welcome to the family to you all!

PS - If you run into any of these fine people or know those who work with them, give them a little "thank you" for supporting the arts and artists here in Amarillo. We creative types have to stick together.
